This is smoking hot for a 50 HDTV Plasma. If you don't know zenith is made by LG. I got in on this deal and the plasma looks great. I could not be happier. No it does not do 1080p but it does 720p or 1080i. They just starting making 1080p plasma and showed them off at CES2006. But they are going to be very expensive. Just for comparison they have an LG unit at best buy that is identical to this unit and its $4000. Here is how it breaks down:
2999 - 400MIR - 10% coupon (there is on floating around. I can't post it of course or i would).

I would not trade a plasma for any other technology on the market. The burn in problem is overrated and you won't have any more problem that you would with a CRT today and the black levels and colors are just awesome.

I believe the deal ends this Saturday.

Go to avsforum.com for insight on this tv. Everyone who has one seems pretty happy.

Edit:
Oh one more thing everyone. I failed to mention something else that is killer for this deal. If you buy their reward points thing which cost about $10 then you get $150 they will send you in the mail for best buy purchases. I don't think it gets better than this

"Epic Story"? What the hell are you talking about? Only thing i said about plasma technology was the flollowing
"I would not trade a plasma for any other technology on the market. The burn in problem is overrated and you won't have any more problem that you would with a CRT today and the black levels and colors are just awesome."

and thats a story? I just trying to give people who are confused by big screen technology (CRT, DLP, LCD, LCos, Plasma) some information.

Anyways here is the link to the tv:

Great deal if you get the MIR. I have a Zenith HDTV from 2 years ago and it is great.

While a link would have been nice, you would serve us better by not flaming the OP and spending 10 seconds to look on BBY's website. Additionally, I guess you aren't much of a reader to consider that an epic story.

Actually thats not true. Sorry to say that if you buy it in the store you won't get the chair and i don't believe you can use the coupon if you don't buy it in the store. Id rather have 10% off then get the chair but thats up you i guess.

So did you do this instore or online... I am asking cause it looks like the rebate that is online is only for online purchase. So is there a rebate instore too?

They one they have online might only be for online purchases but when you purchase one of these tv's in the store a rebate will print out at the register and yes i did this in-store.

How much would delivery be for an item like this? I'd be afraid of damaging it in transit (and lifiting it up a flight of stairs)

$50 where i live but my buddy was so excited about the price we had to go get him one after work today. He didn't want to wait for it to be delivered. Its not that heavy for two people but the only pain in the but was even though it fit fine in my full size truck the box is high and i was almost afraid it would tip over but i strapped that thing down so good.

Very nice post - too bad 50 incher won't fit in the current location we have in mind! We are thinking about 42 " for the future.

By the way, ncage, are you related to RideFree by any chance - the resemblance is uncanny!
