Is that CPU better than, say, an Athlon 2700+ for around $95?

I just noticed that Newegg sells an XP 2200+ Barton 35W (1.35V). (Sold out ATM) 12.5 x 133. If this core costs the same $ as the core at eXcaliberPC, I could see buying this instead since it's only $77. Opinions?

yeah, but the cache size is different

I'm trying to find where I read it...but I've seen where these have been going up to 2.7 on high end air and more with super cooling, YMMV of course. From what I understand only the best cores are selected as 35W chips, so if speed is your need and you're willing to speend a few bucks extra, these are a great deal. The "regular" mobiles that Newegg has are 45W versions. Also, last time these were around they were going for $150+ on e*ay....

Jen's everywhere.
I got mine from newegg also 2 of them $87 each. I love Excalibers Price Gouging!!!! They should be boycotted just on that.
Newegg is doing it too. Their regular mobile 2400's are $77, and $10 more the the 35 watt. And guess what. They clock exactly the same around 2.6ghz for me on air. 2.75ghz in my vapo

i got one from off newegg instead and got it up to 2.4 on decent grade water cooling. GOOD CPU and tons of fun to overclock. idle 32 and load about 34-37, for some odd reason, even though its not running hot... i get stability problems if i go any higher (have used several methods of temp. measurement and they all say load is at 34-37) and doesnt prime. weird.

2.4 max on a mobile is horrible. I get 2.4 @ 1.825v on my year old JUIHB Tbred...on air.
If you guys want good clocking chips, get the 2600 IQYHA, or IQZFA steppings ... I think eXcaliber has the IQYHA one right now...
so the 45watt 2600+ is better than the 35watt 2400+?
