I just did a factory restore on a neighbor's laptop for him (he thinks it's still worth some money...WRONG!). It's an ancient Pentium 4 2.8 GHz Compaq R9000[R3000].
I installed everything relevant from the driver discs, but there's still no SM Bus controller driver. What's up with that?
The Intel utility says something like "No compatible hardware found."
