Yeah, the thicker feet screws up the mouse a bit because it raises the mouse like an extra mm...........I took them off my MX518 right away. I've found other uses for them though :)

Well did you take all remnants of the old mousefeet? After you take off the original feet, you need to take out all the stuff or the Slicksurfs will be raised.

I just got mine it..well actually yesterday. Took off the old mousefeet, cleaned out all the crap left behind, then installed the Slicksurf. I can definitely see these lasting for a while. This was much easier than installing mouseskatez and thermal tape.

hmmm....aren't these mouse skates, thus you stick it onto the old mousefeet...

No they're total replacement for your stock feet, not just mouseskatez which is basically teflon tape.

I installed them on top of the old feet with my mx1000 and it has no problem being "raised" a few mm. I can even raise this mouse a few more mm off the table and it STILL reads fine.

The only thing I would be worried about if I took that route was it you were gaming at had it snag on the side of your mousepad and or desk which could cause it to fall out. To me that would be sacrificing durabilty.

All in all, i'm very pleased with the feet. The guy who runs the show there emailed me asking how I heard of his site and product. I emailed him at told him about this thread and the interest in his products.

Hmmmm, I originally purchased these with the intention of preserving my original feet....so... i have no intention of removing the "old" feet. Also, even if the old feet were removed, the feet I got (MX 3/5/7) were too big to fit into the "pits" where the original feet are. The size of the feet I received is about the same as the edge/wall of the "pits."

I currently use teflon tape and lube on hard mouse pads. Can tap the mouse with a finger and it runs off the pad and may even slide off the desk. The lube barely lasts longer than a whole day LAN party but it definately makes a difference . The teflon tape lasts me anywere from a few weeks to a few months. I sometimes even lube the mouse pad itself. Strangely, I often use ball mice instead of optical for gaming, and the lubed mouse pad doesn't seem to affect it much.

If these mouse feet are as good as teflon tape but lasts longer, I may have to get some.

BTW, the "lube" I use is WET PLATINUM. Seriously.

what kind of mousepad are you using??? Cloth? If it's textured hard plastic, it's a waste of money since your mouse isn't even optical, might as well use a table...

Currently I'm using an Everglide Attack Pad. I've also used cloth pads and a homemade pad (out of a desk pad that had a great surface). I actually like the feel of the textured hard plastic pads like the Everglide. Gives me a consistent surface no matter what table I'm on. At the LAN party I attended this past weekend (LANBASH) some people didn't bring mousepads because they are accustomed to using the table top. Well, all the tables were those folding banquet styles with white plastic surfaces - people were complaining about it. I suppose if you have an adequate table surface at home and never use your computer elsewhere... however I attend LAN parties often (weekly before I moved from CA, now about monthly) and like the consistency.
