On a regular day, I go to bed at about 1-2am, and wake up at 7am for class everyday (UGH). So I come home at about 10, and doze off at around 3pm normally for about an hour. Then on Friday, where I have no class, I sleep until about 10:30pm, and the same goes with Saturday and Sunday as well. So I'm wondering if there's a way to train your body into requiring less sleep? I mean I know of some people that sleep 6 hours a day and are totally fine with it, while I need at least 8, often 9 on average. Is it just natural, or is there anyway I can control it?
I figure I'd be a whole lot more productive with an extra 2-3 hours a day.
Or, would it be healthy to sleep 6 hours a day, get on lots of caffeine, and "catch up" on the weekends? I currently use no method of caffeine, aside from cola, which is unintentional of course, but figure it could help. I do hate the taste of coffee though, although not as much as I did maybe 3-4 years ago--perhaps I could get used to it?
