Sleep - is too much a waste of time? How much do you get?

On Weekdays I usually get 3.5 hours of sleep. Then on weekdays I just knock-out, 12 hours of sleep is enough.

I'm in college and I don't function well on less that 8 hours a night. Any less, and I have to make up the missed sleep hours 2x on the weekends. I had monday off this week and I made up for the lack of sleep the week before by seriously going to bed at 11:50pm Sunday night and waking up around 6pm Monday night. I'm not sure if I've "caught up" yet, but I am finally returning to some state of coherency :)

Yes. I eat any cereal from just Crispex (Just grain basically) to Lucky Charms (Pure Sugar). Doesn't seem to make much difference. I eat large portions too.

Lately I've started drinking a coke with breakfast too. I need all the energy I can get.

Hell, I've went to a doctor about it and he didn't have a clue. I got blood tests and I was on the low end of the acceptable iron range but everything else was fine.

EDIT: I'm 16.

last night i slept for 11...on a work day, i would get around 6-7, maybe 8 if i'm a good boy and stop wanking early the night before.

I sleep 4 hours per night: 10-10:30pm to 2-2:30 am. I ve had this kind of schedule for about ten years and I have absolutely no problem with it. I even wake up before my alarm most mornings. I think that the snoring issue mentioned above is so accurate when it comes to sleep: My wife said I used to snore terribly and pretty much stop breathing in my sleep and then wake up gasping for air. Do that 5-10 times a night and you will wake up feelng like poop. I got those Breathe Rite nasal strips and I fall asleep almost instantly and wake up as if Ive had 10 hours of sleep. I also went to the dentist and he told me I was grinding my teeth in my sleep. So now I also sleep with a mouthpiece that was specially made for my mouth. In the first week I had it, I split the damn thing in half! Its amazing what goes on in your head while you sleep. But like I said I sleep like the dead and wake u fresh as a daisy!

Doh! Cut back on all the sugar. Start eating more meats and proteins, and eat more complex carbs like potatoes, pasta, rice, and whole wheat breads.

Also... increase your fluid intake (not counting soda or coffee). Drink more water, iced tea, hot tea, or real fruit juices. Report back to me in 2 days. ;)

5 hours some nights and 12 some others...the last few days I've been gettin 8 or 9

Ideally I need 9...on weekdays its 5-9 and if it's 5 I take naps. On weekends it's 9-12
