Lol your ignorance is formed by peoples opinions who also hadn't seen the agreement and were speculating. You'd know that had you even bothered to read their opinions on it but you couldn't even be bothered to do that and you have the gall to call others water boys as you uncritically carry water for peoples opinions you haven't even read! Lol!

Like I said, totally unsurprising.
My “ignorance” is informed by people who addressed the pros and cons of the trade agreement, one of the criticisms being the very lack of transparency in its negotiations. That was one of the primary reasons cited by Warren. I don’t expect you are capable or countering Warren, Sanders, Krugman and the broad bipartisan opposition to Obama, which is why Congress didn’t move on it. Where would you like to move the goal posts to now, waterboy bitch?

We were not going to prevent Chinese influence in the region with yet another neoliberal free trade agreement that would only continue the race to the bottom for low income workers, and also excluded other significant players in the region. Support for the TPP was lukewarm at best from many economists and academics.
Free trade + sanctions. It used to work before Russia Toppled you. Probably why they did it too.

It’s telling that the idiot complains about neoliberal trade policies, which is what we currently have, and rages against a trade policy that actually had many provisions that protected workers including working conditions and minimum wages.

As we’ve seen for decades though, idiots are all too happy to vote against the very policies they say they want.

Lol at the bitch repeating talking points! Carry that water dumb ass!
This thread is about human rights abuses in China. You mentioned the TPP, it is on you to demonstrate how the TPP would have prevented these abuses.

The TPP had no teeth. Senators Warren and Sanders were the most vocal against it. Hillary Clinton soured on it when faced with a primary challenge from her left. Trump made it a focus area of his campaign.

In terms of human rights, it was feared that Vietnam and Malaysia would fail to curb their own human rights abuses, let alone a unified ability to curb China.

TPP was just another failed neoliberal attempt in the absence of a broader post Cold War American strategy, and represents the rare instance where the Tea Party and progressives found common ground against the Obama Administration. The GOP similarly failed to define such a strategy with their neoconservative chickenhawk bullshit.

Neoliberal doesn’t mean what you think it means. Find your own opinion and stop repeating talking points about something you’ve never bothered to look into.

Free trade agreements have been a disaster for worker rights, human rights and climate change. One of the things that appealed to me most about Sanders was his opposition to things like the TPP. Noam Chomsky amongst others defined the TPP as neoliberalism, take it up with him.

You still haven’t made a case for how the TPP would have contained China’s human rights abuses.

When all you do is repeat talking points there really isn't any point in having a discussion with you. Like I said, start doing your own research instead of repeating things you obviously don't know shit about.

Amazing that these self righteous critics are so sour on TPP instead of focusing on what Trump put in place in it's stead. Trump did a very good job of totally killing TPP and driving our former partners to make their own deals with Red China. It may be an interesting intellectual exercise to discuss the pros and cons of TPP but it is far more realistic to discuss what we have in effect now and how that is promoting China's interests-all due to the masterful negotiating skills of His Donaldness.

I framed the discussion, you keep dodging it. It seems you’re seeking a circle jerk, not a discussion. I recommend @brycejones, he’s always so eager.

Where can we go? What influence do we have now? More tariffs? More sanctions? Both only hurt US consumer or producers.

Edgy. You being an edgelord... neoliberal waterboy bitches...
Get some new material. You calling people 'edgy' isn't edgy, or smart, or even amusing. You've been doing it for years and it was retarded when you started thinking it was witty or clever. It isn't. You sound like an internet hipster.

yawn. My “ignorance” is informed by people far more intelligent than you.
Probably, but you still aren't honest about the statements they make or opinions they form.
That is, if you actually read what they said.

Keep circle jerking and dodging, waterboy bitch. You can have the last word
And ends with your typical self-jerking hypocrisy. You just have to continue posting to tell him he can have the last word? ROFL.
Just STFU already. You are not 10% as clever as you think you are. Your schoolyard taunts fit your M.O. though, I have to say.

Horrifying stuff. If this is accurate, then the rest of the world should be sanctioning China... but of course we outsourced our entire supply chain to China, so no chance of that happening.
NTMBK, when was the last time you bought something that said Made in China? I'm curious.

When the TPP came up, I hoped we might have some debates about it's salient points. This mud slinging is just shit.

Bottom line on TPP is that, yes, the US would suffered more outsourcing, but it would reduce our reliance on China.
It would have brought better cohesion between friendly Asian states and would have worked as a bulwark against Chinese expansionism.
It would have laid the cornerstone towards building something equivalent to the Western alliance in Asia.

There was allot of dissent. I'm sure Krugman wasn't in favor of it because the economic impact on the US wasn't favorable, at least in the short term.
I like it because I thought it had great geopolitical consequences that would favor the US and bring some western standards to countries searching for greater respect in the world.

Again, thanks Trump 🙄. Maybe Biden's SoS can integrate the US into the CP TTP*. China had expressed interest in eventually entering into the TPP as well - I haven't read up on that or it's potential consequences.

*Well, with concessions to republican senators, if there is any chance at all.

Sounds like you’re describing @ch33zw1z and others here, hard to keep track, there are so many. I am a #bothsidesbitch. If you want to insult me, please use the correct label.

I also tend to mirror back how people engage me. Sorry you don’t like the taste of your own BS.

I do read, quite a bit actually. The whole point of debate is acknowledging that people will draw different conclusions from what they read. I could similarly say that you, and others, are disingenuous and unethical in your assertion of truth. It is clear you would prefer an echo chamber in which to circle jerk. Don’t worry, you’re close to achieving the utopia you seek.

And yet here you are, following me around like a little bitch. You’ll notice I typically don’t give a flying fvck about the crap you post, unless of course you come to feel better about yourself by insulting me. Should I summarize some of your posts? Your lack of self awareness on this point is ironic and amusing. As always, I appreciate your concern. You too can have the last word.
