I would gladly search for it, except the "search archived threads" button has been gone from the advanced search for the past couple weeks at least.
Run up and pick it up by the tail before it gets a chance to spray. It can't spray unless it's back feet are on the ground.
I used to catch them in a live trap and then they'd die very quickly in a hail of 22 bullets. They stole eggs and fought with my other animals. After a hail of bullets. I'd let the trap sit for an hour and then spray it with lots of water. I'd take a shower too, that took care of any drifting smells. I'd get about 3 skunks a year.
You could submerge a live trap in water. Feed the skunk poison or whatever. Just don't let the poison get around to hurt your critters.
If the skunks move under your house, buy them a ghetto blaster and play heavy metal 24/7.
My dad did this with squirrels. There used to be dozens of them running all over the place, tearing up the yard and digging up the gardens. My dad built a small wooden box with a door on it sized to fit perfectly around the live trap. After catching a squirrel in the trap he'd fill up two 5 gallon JC buckets with water, calmly place the trap in the box, then follow up immediately with the water (the box held about 7 gallons) and close the door. 5 minutes later he'd come back, pour out the water and throw the squirrel in the garbage. He probably killed 15-20 squirrels last year.
Guess what? There were almost no squirrels in the yard this year!
