It annoys me (what doesn't haha).
Example 1: Anyway like with that gas station - shell (?) - you can get these cards that are attached to your credit/debit card and use them for quicker purchases. Oh wow! Great. So I can go and buy gas with this thing and instead of waiting the 5 seconds for my credit card to get authorized I can just swipe this thing instead. What's the point? I bet that to make up that 5 seconds it will take many times, since filling out the application forms must take at least 3 minutes. That's like 36 trips. Get gas twice a week? 18 weeks even to break even on time. Then there is the fact that you need to ONLY go to shell stations. Searching for one specifically, unless one is one you'd normally use, will cost way more than 5 seconds each stop!
Example 2: Places like bestbuy have a way to buy online and pick up at the store! Cool! But why is this cool? It's not and here's why: Find the item online, pay for it, then go to bestbuy to pick it up VS. go to bestbuy and pick it up and pay there. In both cases you still need to produce a credit card for somebody to see, still have to get out of your car, etc.. You even need to, for bestbuy, go to a special "order pickup area". How many man hours and dollars did bestbuy dump into this utterly useless idea?
Example 3: The new discover card that is slim and you can fold it into its case. What's the point? There isn't one. Gonna carry it instead of a wallet? No, because who wants to use their credit card without carrying around their wallet (id is often asked for). So what does this accomplish? All it accomplishes is fattening up your pocket. Of course I'm sure discover has suckered some people in to this who think that the new switch blade card is going to make their life much better than the standard wallet card. Wtf?!
