Vote for me and Farmers will have to work for a living again.

Vote for you, and there won't be anymore farmers, only more corporations like ADM.

I'd appreciate it if you'd back up your statement by telling us about your farming experience.
I am not sure why that would be a bad thing. If ADM is more effecient at growing crops why would the consumer not want more of that?

Perhaps you're not familiar with their history of price fixing.

ANd when and how has ADM fixed prices? The only thing subsidies are doing to farmers is ecouranging them grown more of commodity, which then drives down the price of that same commodity. Welcome to a treadmill to nowhere.

I like your style smackdown.

I will have room in my cabinet

Yeah, I suppose you would like ignorance in your cabinet.

You claim ignorance but you can't show how any farm subside can't easly be cut by 20 precent.

It's your "plan". Show us how it's done. I don't have to disprove your little "plan" because you don't even know how your little "plan" would work since you don't seem to have a clue how subsidies work.

Sure I do. If a farmer was going to get 100 dollars under the current systme they would get 80 under the phase out not that difficult. Seems to me my plan would work fine.

Do you have any idea how the process of the farmer getting the 100 dollars works? No. It's not just farmers getting a check. It's far more complicated than that, which is something you seem to refuse to understand.

How many times are you going to state I don't know the details of farm subsides like it is some kind of grand revolation? I don't need to know the details to cut it by 20% a year. How is the process more complicated then the goverment cutting a check? Please put up or shut up on why my plan will not work.

Yes you do. You don't know what they are or how they work yet you still claim that your little "plan" will work?

I've already told you how it's more complicated, did you read any of the link I gave you? It's not just a check handed out to farmers. I suggest you quit digging and either go educate yourself on farm subsidies or stop all together with your BS.

I read your link and copies and pasted the 3 lines of text in it.
Give one reason my plan will not work?

Edit: By the way it is complex is not a reason my plain will not work.

can't they make ethanol out of those?

corn is gooood. haha.

Sen Harkin, year after year has pushed for Legislation increasing the use of Ethanol and also using the great quantities of Corn (et al) as a energy source. I myself am considering converting my Ford F-150 to use "vegatable oil" in place of Gasoline. Think of all the money and ENERGY we are paying for and wasting when we could actually have Health Care, Better Schooling and a myiad of other really useful social programs.... But alas, we have an administration steeped in Oil and Oil money.

While you want to only single out Harkin, you are missing the fact that Grassely has done as much if not more with regards to promotion of ethanol.

I can only speak for those that I have seen publicly speak to this. I have on many occasions seen Mr. Harkin on CSPAN pushing this idea. I do not take sides politically when it comes to issues like this. I would support any Congressman that would support this type of solution.

Same thing goes for Congressmen that wish to preserve Wildlands and the game that live on those lands, I am an avid hunter and fisherman and wish to keep nature "natural" and free. Using less destructive sources of energy advance that cause as well its cheaper!
