Yes, she did (pregnant at 13), which is precisely why she moved to the USVI to live with my grandmother and we moved to follow and stayed there for a year. My earliest memories are of living in the USVI and seeing my sister bring home my niece when my twin brother and I were 3yo. In fact, I remember our 4th birthday there and even the specifc candles used on the cake. I wish I could remember other aspects of my life with such clarity.

Also, how can you choose to "be late" on an auto-payment that has already been submitted? Also, it's already been dealt with. No pay-day loan, no borrowing, no cash-advance, no pawning, no credit card, no overdraft protection: The landlords happened to be out of town and didn't cash the rent check right away so we had enough in there for the cell phone bill. I have my money today and can cover the rent shortfall until she has hers tomorrow. It solved itself.

FYI. Auto-pay doesn't exist as a reminder for when to pay bills, its for people with money in their accounts that never have to worry about bouncing checks

As someone with poor money management your sister would be best served knowing exactly when her bills are due and having the flexibility to be a day or 2 late in situations like this. Most bills have a grace period anyways.

*I* didn't float anything. It's her bill and her account. I put my share of the rent into her account on the 25th of last month and had nothing to do with mailing the check or the payment that was automatically coming out of it. Also, every auto-pay service I have ever seen has a variation of this promotional line: "Avoid late fees! Never miss a due-date! Sign up for auto-pay today!" Don't try to tell me you've never seen that. Don't try to tell me that I am wrong about what they are encouraged or promoted "for" just because it isn't for everyone. What you mean is that you don't think that they should in certain situations and disagree with their reasoning, which is fine. We all know what it's really for: They want to secure their payment should you ever be short on cash. Otherwise, they LOVE charging late fees and getting more money.
