I did NOT say that I thought she was fired for joyriding. I said that the joyriding was sufficient reason for a firing. The eployee was headed for a firing long before this incident. Also, do you have any idea what kind of legal hell she would have opened up for the pizza place if she had done something detrimental? She opened the door to a lawsuit against the company.Originally posted by: weezergirl
Sure that is fine if that was the reason he fired her but did you read this quote?Originally posted by: Zenmervolt
So doing nothing that her friend couldn't have done (or anyone else on the scene for that matter) for the man who was shot gets her a free pass to be careless with company funds and to use company time to drive friends around? She should NOT have been driving friends on company time, that alone is enough to warrant the firing.

"We feel just as bad as the next guy, but we don't pay employees to be EMTs (emergency medical technicians)," Boyd said.
Sorry, but if he was firing her for the specific reasons you stated....a comment like this is just STUPID and shows he has NO heart or brains whatsoever. I don't care if he was just running a business, I'd like to eat at a place that cares about people in general and not just money.
And to everyone saying that he should have taken public perception into account, good luck in business. Slackers need to be fired. You can't run a business by being a charity. Public perception is just that, perception. Perception is NOT reality, no matter how much you want it to be.

You state that she was "headed for a firing long before this incident". Exactly how long have you know this woman and been in any sort of relations between her or her Supervisors? Are you making assumptions? Cause we all know what that makes out of you. You don't know the full details of this and you're just pulling crap outta your a$$ to make yourself not sound like...just that...an A$$
FYI...you should change your nick to Mr. Cleo.
despite saving a life, ZV does make really good points...u have to admit to that at least......i mean, it's really cool that the mother saved that dude....and maybe at least she should've gotten a leave or something.....i mean we really donno what truly went on.....that boss is a stern business man and slackers suck......as for ZV..if i was ever a employer, i'd put him on top of my list of candidates over any of you if i wanted to hire someone..u have to realize in this world, charity is sh!t cuz if ur too nice in a business, u'll fail for sure...but the boss' comment was enough to make other people angry....if he didn't say that, this situation would of course be in favor of the boss...
