watched it this morning. looks good. cant wait. heard its going to be verbatim from the comics also (appearance and dialogue).

It's not, I've only read one Sin City story, and I can tell its the one with Bruce Willis
and Jessica Alba in the movie. And from the trailer I can also tell it is not a verbatim
transfer, but close enough to not completely upset the "comics are for kids" crowd.

If it is even close to telling the stories of Sin City, and not just to show off a bunch of stars,
even if it is not a perfect retelling, it will indeed rock.

and thats all i can really hope for. ill keep my fingers crossed that it comes out good.

Just saw this trailer, what's the deal with Tarantino being listed as a "guest director"? I dont get that at all. Still, looks pretty good. That chick from Gilmore Girls is in it. She's pretty 🙂

"In conclusion, this is a wonderful and groundbreaking movie. I haven?t yet mentioned that the movie was shot entirely on green screen with the backgrounds added later via CGI. That?s because I didn?t even think about it while I was watching this awesome film. (There is only one part where it looks fake and that is when Elijah Wood has his arms and legs cut off. But I didn?t mind, because I can?t stand Elijah Wood and enjoyed seeing him dismembered anyway.)"

From an early screening:

The part about Elijah Wood sounds bizarre, yet funny.

They're combining three different story arcs.

Well, Frank Miller has been holding off doing this movie for a long time because he was afraid it wouldn't be adapted well. Robert Rodriguez made a 2 minute trailer-type video of the movie to show him and Miller agreed to make the film if Rodriguez was going to direct. Miller and Rodriguez adapted the screenplay and Miller also has a co-directing credit.

I'm sure it'll be very much like the comic.

They listed him as director of Hero the asian fighting flick too and that had been out in HK for quite a while before. It's just marketing.

I know that's not technically a "Spoiler", but not everyone would have wanted to know something like that up front before seeing it......

Because the books it is based on were not in color.

Because it is an attempt at modern-day Film Noir, which is traditionally filmed in Black and White.

So they can create cool visual effects around the use of limited color.
