I did go to listen to my music of choice, but somehow your music turned up on my station. Because of songs like this, put out by bands that want to come off as "rock" yet sound like Michael Bolton with an overdrive guitar, I have to wade through crap to find anything redeeming on the radio. If you like that kind of music go listen to a chick rock station. Stop calling up rock stations and requesting power ballads.

BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH

If you don't like whats on the radio, they are called CDs... get what is called a CD PLAYER and use those!!!

sheesh

and no, I don't "call up rock stations and request power ballads". I prefer to be suprised.

If I had to choose between being tortured with the 'Looking Down...' song for the rest of my life or some kid singing the Barney Song... I would go with the Barney song.

HAHA, and I would be gouging my eardrums out with a ball-point pen if I heard that barney song. :p

Can't say that I've seen Big Daddy, but I can already guess that I'll be in pain from hearing it ;)

BTW, I work in a grocery store all day, I hear stuff that is just as bad as that barney song. :D

If that singer had any friends they would tell him that his voice sucks and he has no business trying to hit the 'high note'.

C'mon now, that song is actually one of the better things to come out on the radio for the longest time. I think the singer has a great voice, IMO.

As said before, everyone is a critic

Yup, everyone's a critic except for where that 'Looking Down the Barrell' song is concerned. Anyone who thinks that guy can sing based on that song probably thinks their own music sung in the shower every morning will win them the American Idol award.

Actually, IMO, whomever decides that they should be on American Idol should be brought out back and put in front of a firing range. I hate that show with a passion.

Come to think of it all reality shows suck. :p

Oh yeah, by Queen. I remember the interview with Vanilla Ice on MTV, where he claimed it wasn't the same tune because Queen's song went, "doo doo doo do-do-doo doo, doo doo doo do-do-doo doo," whereas his went "doo doo doo do-do-doo doo, doo doo doo doo do-do-doo doo."

I really want to know if he actually said that to the judge during the lawsuit. :p

It is Under Pressure, by David Bowie He ripped off...not Queen

It was a Queen song that featured Bowie, actually, from the album Hot Space.

OMGWTFKILL!!!!!

I can fvcking stand this sh!t!!!!111111oneone

None of these new "Artists" have any talent and have to revert to covering(butchering) classics.

I believe the whole pop-culture has the same mentality. "We don't have any new ideas so let's just bring back old stuff(throwback jerseys anyone?)."

True story about this song. I was going around the office trying to find out who it was that sang the song and no one could help me. I just kept making fun of it and people didn't believe me that someone singing as bad as I described could possibly get the airplay that this song had.

Finally, I caught the song on the air and rushed out to tell everyone. No one liked it. Everyone cringed when this guy would try to hit high notes. If anyone honestly think the guy who sang that song has a voice worth a damn then they need to actually listen to some music that's not on the rock station. :p

It's one thing to scream. I like stuff like Slipknot. It's another thing to be a white guy trying to sing like you're in Boys II Men or something. Hell, the only one who can even come close is Gavin DeGraw and he isn't even really hitting it big at all.

The guy can sing. Obviously a lot of people think so, otherwise the song wouldn't be getting that much airplay. I'd like to hear your hit record, since you seem to think you know what constitutes talent and what doesn't. Oh, you don't have one? Thats right, you're a cubicle rat who has nothing better to do than criticize the work of others to try and gain some sort of parity with them.

I think you're just jealous because that guy gets more ass than a toilet seat, doing something he loves, and getting recognized for it, while you will probbably slave away in your little office building for the rest of your life in hopes of having a pension that is just a fraction of what that guy makes off of a 3 month tour.

Just listened to it...
That cover is not very good.
Shinedown isn't played here in Vancouver, most people here probably have no idea who they are.

The original isn't all that amazing either. They have A LOT better music than that.

Are you talking about the remake to the Skynyrd song? I've never heard it and I'm glad I haven't.

As for the "Take My Breath Away" remake, that's just pure crap. It's like they try to take any life or feeling out of music and turn it into some processed pop pile of sh_t.

I'm waiting to see if anyone ever covers "Wish You Were Here" from Pink Floyd. I wonder what kind of trash they'll turn it into....Maybe speed it up a bit and put some rap lyrics over it.....

I want to throw up

Someone has butchered 'Simple Man'. I'm listening to this monstrosity as I type. If any of you buy this single or album you are part of the problem and must be eliminated.

That is a song that should never be redone...sooo wrong. I haven't heard it...but you couln't sing that song any better.

Please. Go listen to some REAL singers and then come back and tell me that the guy who is singing that song can sing. He has no talent and I guarantee you that the only people who think so are those who listen to today's version of alternative hard rock. Perhaps you should open your mind a little and go listen to some people with REAL voices and then maybe you'll understand.

I implore everyone reading this thread to find a sample (no condoning of mp3 downloads in this thread! ;) ) of this song and judge for yourself. Oh, and I'm talking about the 'Looking Down the Barrel' song that had people in my office thinking someone was actually DYING on the radio waves.

BTW, based on your apparent need to resort to personal attacks, I suggest you need to grow up and learn to control that anger a little bit. My criticism of this guy's atrocious voice has nothing to do with toilet seats nor cubicles. Oh, and sorry but I don't work in a cubicle. ;)

Fing is right. That song is the most horrible thing I've heard on the radio in a long time. I actually laughed the first time that I heard it becasue I just knew that it had to be a joke.

Just becasue these guys get radio play, it doesnt make them talented performers or musicians.

Can you sing better? I'm not a huge fan of the guy, but hes got talent. Perhaps it is YOU who should open your mind a little, since I'm not even a big fan of most of the stuff I hear on the radio, including this band. That doesn't mean the guy isn't talented. He can sing better than me, he can sing better than you, and he's the one whos getting paid to sing while you're getting paid to work in an office -- dont you think theres a reason for that?

I wasn't making personal attacks, I was just making a point. You can not like the guy's voice all you want, but to say he isn't talented is foolish, and it makes you look jealous.

I'm not a Skynyrd fanatic, but it's still annoying that someone is making money from a crappy version of a good song.

I just think its kind of pathetic that this guy has nothing better to do than criticize other people's art. Its always the people who aren't creating anything musically that have the most negative stuff to say about other people's music.
