So I'm at work in the office, doing some work, reading some ATOT, and listening to the radio.

Someone has butchered 'Simple Man'. I'm listening to this monstrosity as I type. If any of you buy this single or album you are part of the problem and must be eliminated.

I think that's the same band that 'sings' that other monstrosity I despise.. 'Looking Down the Barrell' or whatever it's called.

If that singer had any friends they would tell him that his voice sucks and he has no business trying to hit the 'high note'.

BTW, bands with mad skillz like this one remind me that mp3's are truly the reason that the music industry is losing money...

C'mon now, that song is actually one of the better things to come out on the radio for the longest time. I think the singer has a great voice, IMO.

Your just jealous cuz you can't hit the high note

True story about this song. I was going around the office trying to find out who it was that sang the song and no one could help me. I just kept making fun of it and people didn't believe me that someone singing as bad as I described could possibly get the airplay that this song had.

Finally, I caught the song on the air and rushed out to tell everyone. No one liked it. Everyone cringed when this guy would try to hit high notes. If anyone honestly think the guy who sang that song has a voice worth a damn then they need to actually listen to some music that's not on the rock station. :p

It's one thing to scream. I like stuff like Slipknot. It's another thing to be a white guy trying to sing like you're in Boys II Men or something. Hell, the only one who can even come close is Gavin DeGraw and he isn't even really hitting it big at all.

I was wondering who that was as well. It's horrible. Simply horrible. So much to covers paying tribute to the original band, this one is downright disrespectful!

People like you are the reason my radio station is infected with songs by Nickelback and Hoobastank's "The Reason". Please die at your earliest convenience.

They remade "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin, as well.

There are *very* few remakes that can touch the original. It's even worse when they take the song and try to pass it off as their own, like "Ice Ice Baby". ;)

Um, wasn't that Vanilla Ice covering his own song, but doing it hard rock? It was called "Too Cold". I actually liked it, though mostly from the obvious irony point of view.

Ugh, the Jessica Simpson cover of Take My Breath Away makes me want to take my hearing away.

So this Simple Man song, it's a cover of the Skynyrd song? If so, then these people suck -- Simple Man is probably my favorite Skynyrd song. :|

Dynamite Hack - Boys in the Hood. Cover of an Easy-E song.
The rest of their album sounds kind of like Sum 41. Good Sum 41.

"Ice Ice Baby"'s beat and sound came from another song, IIRC. I believe it's called "People in the Streets" or "People on the Streets". I've heard it on a couple of occasions.

The sample for Ice Ice Baby is from the Queen (w/ David Bowie) song Under Pressure.

Then you go listen to your choice of music, I'll go listen to mine.

As said before, everyone is a critic

Oh yeah, by Queen. I remember the interview with Vanilla Ice on MTV, where he claimed it wasn't the same tune because Queen's song went, "doo doo doo do-do-doo doo, doo doo doo do-do-doo doo," whereas his went "doo doo doo do-do-doo doo, doo doo doo doo do-do-doo doo."

I really want to know if he actually said that to the judge during the lawsuit. :p

Yup, everyone's a critic except for where that 'Looking Down the Barrell' song is concerned. Anyone who thinks that guy can sing based on that song probably thinks their own music sung in the shower every morning will win them the American Idol award.

I did go to listen to my music of choice, but somehow your music turned up on my station. Because of songs like this, put out by bands that want to come off as "rock" yet sound like Michael Bolton with an overdrive guitar, I have to wade through crap to find anything redeeming on the radio. If you like that kind of music go listen to a chick rock station. Stop calling up rock stations and requesting power ballads.
