I like Sim City 2000 a lot, but it was a DOS game. I tried SC3000 and never liked it. There was something about the ease of SC2000 that made it fun to play.

I wish Sim City 4 had naturally occurring disasters like the earlier sim cities did. Makes it interesting. Does anyone know if this will?

Anyone know what the geographical size limit for cities will be?

My main problem with SC2000 was that there was not enough room on the map. I want a game that will let you view an entire urban area up to rural lands. SC4 made a valiant attempt at allowing you to view a region but it didn't quite cut it. Hopefully computer improvements

yes this looks cool, I will be looking out for this.

I sucked at SimCity 4. I couldn't build any city whatsoever which was self sufficient. I had to go into a neighboring section and use the money to just build a giant industrial zone then go back to my previous section to build a city- that way my people had a place to work. And then it always seemed my city would spark to life for a little while and then just dwindle down and refuse to grow. I just didn't understand the game.

Sim City 4 would have been great if region play had been better...

I liked building a freeway that spanned 4 regions.

A bump for another city builder wanna-be failure.

Read the reader reviews. It sounds like a dreadful bore after being exposed to Sim City for over a decade.

rather than just wealth levels (3 levels for simcity4). It also requires trading of resources which contradicts the companies aim to casualize the genre. The company also hopes player investment would complete core features in the game by requiring the player to purchase monthly subscriptions for buses, trains and subway features which would be released when complete.

WTF?!?!

Agreed, CitiesXL is going to be an epic failure. I predict that within a year, Monte Cristo will blame piracy for its poor sales.

Yup, Was waiting so patiently and hopefully. CitiesXL is total bullshit. Need to micropay for everything, and the game is nowhere near the depth of SC4.

Waiting patiently for SC5. That day may never come...

just like to say called it and glad I did. fuking idiots acted like they learned nothing from the hellgate london fiasco.

Without breaking the NDA and saying whether I am or not part of the beta... I will say that since having reformatted my system, I do not have CitiesXL on it. Take that for whatever you make of it. 🙂

Ouch Sunny. I don't think you're breaking any honor system stating that the game is bad.

"You need to register the game and log online to play the single-player cities, which is unnecessarily intrusive and makes offline play seem like an afterthought." - Gamespot.com

Sounds like Company Of Heroes but worse. I remember sitting through an hour or two of updates just to play the single player in COH. Though at least COH didn't charge 10 dollars a month for online play. I like the idea of down loadable content better than this MMO crap.

Another marketing failure.

How was City Life? I actually baught the game months ago for a few bucks but never installed it.
