So if all that is correct, what happened to Alessa's body. What I don't get is that she was burned badly but still alive and this was when she was a young child. However, in the scenes, she is a full grown person (still mutilated from burns). Is that only in the "hell" world? And where is her real body in the real world? Has it already been dead after she made a deal w/ the devil?

And how come Alessa's mom could stay outside of the church when all the demons popped out?

And who or what was the big guy w/ the triangle metal head and big sword?

The Pyramid Head is one of Aleesa's constructs from her nightmare. Alessa's nightmare changed a lot of the undead into demons for her pleasure. The Pyramid Head
is a little special however from the rest...His head is covered like a hellish executioner (if you ever seen 1700's movie) when the people got beheaded the executioner would never show his face. In this case, the pyramid head is Aleesa's constructed executioner. Remember that a executioner only performs what he is told to do! By who? Maybe someone other than Alessa....

Alessa's full 14 year old body is just another projection of herself. Cheryl is seven, the same age that Alessa would've been when she lost her normal life. If you read my above post you would then see the connection. There isn't really two girls in the movie, but the same girl with different projections of herself. Cheryl is just a regressed projection of herself. This is how some people who suffered such trauma cope with the pain -- projecting themselves as another person or life.

Aleesa's mom, Dahlia is actually the real villain in the movie. She plays everybody, including the cult, as a puppet in the movie. She also played the audience as a puppet too. The cult wasn't really the root of the evil, but Dahlia the mother herself. She was casted out of the Cult as a non-believer while she used her child as bate for the cult to burn. Dahlia knew the abilities of her child (to manifest dreams and create a hell or heaven) and that the only way that she could possess or control the power is to force it through suffering of the child. This is when key terms I mentioned in the above post comes into play. About Regression, Astral Projection, and Dissociative Identity Disorder. And by the way, Alessa does not make a deal with the devil....

I thought it was pretty bad. Yes the gore/disturbing scenes were there to scare you and stuff, but the plot was confusing, the camera work was bad, and some scenes were too dark to tell what was going on.

But I need some clarification...tell me if I have the movie story straight.

- Silent Hill is built upon a coal mine.

- The ppl living there are really religious and killed anyone who went against their faith...like witches.

- They believed Alessa to be a witch and burned her while she was just a child. (Why didn't they burn the mother? Did they trick her into thinking that she could be cleansed if she sacrificed Alessa?)

- During the burning of Alessa, an accident occurred which started the fire that engulfed the town. All the people died in the fire. But somehow Alessa managed to survive.

- She was taken into the hospital and kept alive. While she was there suffering, she made a deal with the devil to have her own hell/purgatory.

- Rose, the hot cop, and shannon all died in car accidents and became "citizens" of SH. Well, actually, Shannon is part of Alessa anyways.

- Rose helps the "evil" shannon get revenge on the citizens.

- Rose and good shannon go back home but are still "dead"

So if all that is correct, what happened to Alessa's body. What I don't get is that she was burned badly but still alive and this was when she was a young child. However, in the scenes, she is a full grown person (still mutilated from burns). Is that only in the "hell" world? And where is her real body in the real world? it sounds like you never played the SH series...

i can answer some of the questions for you.

the pyramid head (triangle metal head) is sorta like a executioner, in the game, he is always after someone that has committed sins.

alessa's mom is alessa's mom, "mother is god in the eyes of the child", would you kill your mom if you have control over the hellish world?

after alessa made the deal with the devil, the environment around her body has became a hibrid between the fog world and the hell world. so thats why Rose, going to the "heart of evil", didn't need the sirens to change the environment even those the place was hellish.

So did Alessa actually die in the hospital then? I guess when she made a pact w/ the devil or whatever, that was when she left the real world and created the fog/hell world?

Edit: I just looked it up, Cheryl is the name of the girl in the video game.

In the movie it's Shannon...

No wonder your post confused me lol.

The evil little girl is not the devil. It's just one of Alessa's constructs from her mind. If you ever saw "A beautiful mind", the evil girl is just one of her characters created from her multiple-personality disorder.

This movie delivers what I was hoping it would. It may have some cheezy lines here and there, but it also has some very crazy and scary parts to it as well.

I've never played the game before, but I can easily see how the game would be played after watching the movie. I think the director did a great job creating the mood and setting for something like this.

And there were a few shocking parts in the movie as well... like when they show the hot cop being burned alive, and when that pyramid-head guy tears off the lady's skin and throws it against the church door. That was just badass! :D

SH1, is very similar to the movie.
SH2, its about this guy james who killed his wife
SH3, i think thats the one with cheryl's daughter? or might be the baby the main characters received from SH1...
SH4, thats the one about the guy stuck in the apt...

overall, i think i like SH2's storyline better. it was more shocking to learn about the truth...

Right. Seems to make a little more sense.

But still wondering:

1. Where is Alessa's real world body, did it eventually die....like maybe when she made the pact w/ the devil?

2. Were you mentioning the video game when you said Cheryl? Why didn't you just say Shannon as her name was in the movie?

The red triangle is the sign of the devils right hand man. He's sending people to hell. Kinda like in casper where casper remains a ghost untill his life is fufilled or whatever. Once the red triangle guy kills you, your sent to hell.

bump because I saw the movie.

very disturbing. The visuals are very true to the game. I played SH 1,2, and 4. I was happy with it.

I loved SH 1-3 and saw the movie. I thought it was crap. Horrible acting (rose saying to the cop, "it's gonna be okay!") and it tries too hard to force the story on to you.

That being said, the visuals were excellent. They were done so well, it felt like you were playing the video game, down to the button press.

I don't think this game was meant to be made into a cohesive film. As if the plot in the video game weren't vague and complex enough, trying to explain it to a popcorn crowd is just ridiculous.

I would recommend people play the game first (I didn't), and then watch the movie if you enjoy the game - because the movie wasn't that great for me.

I finally saw the movie.

While it wasn't "scary" it was VERY suspenseful. I was always on the edge of my seat, waiting for something to happen, and when it did it was shocking. Shocking, but not scary.

I'd have to say it was a very good movie. Well worth the 8 bucks.

i want to see it and so did my s.o., but he came home from work today and was told by others that it was a crapy movie.
but maybe if i tell him that if they never played the game then thats why they thought it was no good then he will still want o see it.
i tend to never listen to what other people say about a movie beacuse we all have own opinions
