but maybe if i tell him that if they never played the game then thats why they thought it was no good then he will still want o see it.
i tend to never listen to what other people say about a movie beacuse we all have own opinions

I've never played the game and I thought it was an excellent movie.

why is everyone complaining about this movie? what do you expect? i think this is a good movie base on the visuals and the story, acting is kinda lame, but if you play the game you'll see that the character interactions is kinda lame too... so its really nothing new.

It was awful. Save your money. There is a reason they didn't allow critics to see it before it debuted. I should have known better.

The story did however twist a little at the end where it wasn't like the game but all in all it came together well. I think this was the best remaking of a video game ever. Good acting, good directing, and holy hell @ the gore in this movie. This is no "The Ring" movie. They slice and dice and show some really demonic stuff in this movie.

minor spoiler
Most people got confused in the ending. I dont want to really spoil it for you but its the same thing people got confused with when playing the game. How the main character went between back in forth into the two worlds. All I can tell you really is remember that there are two girls persay. It goes a little deeper than that, and I hope you can figure it out.

But its such a shame that people cant use their intellect and realize a good movie when they see one!

I played the game, and I still say the movie sucked balls.

There's just no way you can take it seriously, the acting is that bad. Half the audience just laughed at some of the (meant to be) "serious" lines.

It was far too long too.

I guess it had some cool visuals and lots from the games, but that doesn't cut it sorry.

Lines like, "We're going to Room 111" had the entire crowd laughing.

Exactly. It took itself way too seriously for acting that bad and failed.

Well what do you want? Your assessment of the movie pretty much somes up all action & horror movies out there. And the audience does play a huge role in whether you enjoy or hate a movie. If you can look past a few "bad" lines, the movie is very good.

It's like I used to see action movies with a certain few friends, who wen't just to laugh at everything. I thus hated going to the movies, hated the pictures, thought they were horrible. But years later I'd catch them on tv at home, and realized they are actually pretty good - as long as you don't have two people next to you laughing the whole time.

Sheesh, the producers had to finish a movie. They didn't take 4 hours to develop the characters, make their lines & reactions true to life, whatever. They needed to advance the story line and keep the characters on the move. So if a few bad lines are required to make the rest of the movie more enjoyable, then so be it, I am able to look past them.

And I do say, there was one thing I was hoping to see but they didn't include... teleportation bathrooms!! :) But probably people who hadn't played the games would just laugh their heads off and make the movie even less enjoyable for the others in the theatre...

I didn't play the games, and thought the movie was great.
The storyline wasn't that confusing to me, most of the things I read reconfirmed what I pieced together from the game.

I saw it last night and thought it was a great movie. It's pretty eerie seeing how close to the game they actually made it. I never finished the game, but I played like 75% through it. There was a lot of stuff that brought back memories when watching the movie.

One enemy I never saw in the movie were the flying demons or whatever they were. I kinda wanted tos ee one but never did.

Also, I do not understand what is so funny about the line "We're going to room 111" ... someone care to explain why one would laugh at it?
