I'm the only one of three seniors -- me at 73, Bro at 65 and Moms at 95 -- to leave the house and expose myself to others on a regular basis. Bro can't stand on both legs more than a half hour at a time, and Moms is beginning to be bed-bound. She DID walk to the bathroom the other day, however, and left a very healthy looking deposit. We have those low GPF toilets. Moms' turds come out as hard as baseballs -- you could kill someone with one by exercising your pitching arm. I have to monitor the terlit daily to make sure one of those baseballs hasn't plugged it up again. I'm giving her Metamucil or Citracel now every morning. But I digress . . .
So it's just me -- for the grocery runs and bank business and everything else, when we're not ordering from Amazon or using Insta-Cart. All year, I was anxious about the development of a vaccine or the rank-order of different groups of people who would get a shot first.
My contact down at CVS tells me she'll let me know when I can get my first shot. Bro is probably second priority for the household, since he may leave the house once or twice a month, and you'd figure Moms should be first priority, but her doctor tells me there is a risk to giving the vaccine to the very elderly, as the side-effects can push pre-existing conditions over the edge. She said to wait on Moms, and take the same precautions we've followed all along, so Moms risk remains the same for the time being.
I want this misery to be over. The looney Base is always blaming China for it, but we know better. There is one person whose negligence led to this epidemic. He needs to get 99 years in the electric chair. I know that Mary Trump suggested a possibility of "mass-negligent-homicide" charges, but law is not her field of expertise.
