LOL I tune in late only too see what looked like Will punch Chris for making fun of Will’s wife. The entire room of white hollywood elite became as uncomfortable as humanly possible. But the producers sure did want to give this night an urban vibe. Mission accomplished.

Chris Rock made a bad joke, not even the worst in terms of bad taste of the night, and Will Smith flew off the handle and committed assault(he forcefully bitched slapped Chris Rock) live on stage. The uncensored clip from the international broadcasts has already hit the web. It was very much real and while Chris Rock joke was in bad taste, Will Smith should suffer some consequences from it. They should not be tolerated by the Academy or Hollywood.

After watching the video from BoomerD, it appears that Mr Smith did some damage to his career. Might win an Oscar tonight, but I am sure the celebration will be short lived. Chris Rock actually did a good job of holding it together, much better than Will Smith did.

In the eyes of all the caucasian people in America who don't have any black friends, Will was always viewed as being so nice, funny and super likable. Who would have ever thought Snoop and Martha Stewart would become BFF's and Will Smith would slap the shit out of someone on live TV. While I don't really follow Hollywood, I did see a random headline somewhere that Jada was apologizing to Will recently because she's pregnant with another mans child. This is probably a lame internet rumor, but she did cheat on Will with a dude young enough to be her son, excuse me... Was "entangled" with him. And she's also said shit recently about his sex game is lacking. I'm sure there's other shit, but those are the headlines I'd stumble upon when looking for other shit.

Apparently, Will just couldn't take it anymore and snapped lol.

It’s well known that Will and Jada’s marriage is merely a business arrangement and has been for a long long time.

Two Will laughed at the joke until he saw Jada, his business partner, was offended.

That's the difficultly with comedy. Comedy isn't illegal, but can cross lines. Physical assault OTOH...I mean, dang:

That's the scary thing about it:

1. Will Smith works in the entertainment business, which is for better or for worse full of inappropriate roastings

2. It sets the example that if someone merely says words you don't like, then it's OK to assault them. I hope we don't see this typical of physically violent behavior parroted in comedy clubs & shows in the future.

As far as the joke goes, I mean, just the facts - Chris Rock made fun of someone's disease (which they're probably sensitive about) to their face, in front of their life partner, in front of the whole world, live. Maybe not the best choice of material...
