This is really torquing me off. I ordered some stuff from truckperformance.com a little over a month ago. They called and said one of the items was discontinued, so I switched it to another product that also ended up being discontinued. Ended up just cancelling that part of the order, (received the other item just fine). All is well and good. I ended up placing ANOTHER order for a replacement of the original discontinued item, as well as a few other things, and received them just fine. However, the company still owes me over $300 for the original item. I've checked my account status on the page, and the return payment (RMA) shows "processing". I've called them pretty much twice to three times a week since the original order, and they keep giving me the runaround. Finally got out of them that since the order was cancelled (due to THEIR error, not mine), they're pretty much just sitting on the money, and will "get to it when they get to it". As I mentioned, it's been a month, and I'm getting ready to sick the wife on 'em, (she does this sort of thing for a living).

Question is, is there anyway to light a fire under someone over there and get my friggin' money back?! I mean, it's $300 fer cryin out loud! Any ideas???

I hope to God you used a CC, just dispute the charge.

Let your CC company take them on, guaranteed they have the resources to get their way.

Will it matter? How long does the victim have to challenge a charge? Sounds like it has been >1 month.

Yeah, I know RossMAN, NEVER use a debit card on the internet, but it's on an account that's specifically for that purpose, and I never keep any money in there. I only buy from established companies, and I'm usually pretty careful. (This particular company came highly recommended from several different forums, so I figured I was safe.) So to answer your question, yes it was a debit card, but I don't have any credit cards (am completely out of debt as of two months ago).

1. Find out the name and number of a supervisor
2. Call him every hour on the hour to check the status
3. If he stops answering his phone, get the number to his boss
4. Repeat steps 1-3

That'd be a great idea, but I can't exactly call from work. The only time I can call, (that they're open) is over my lunch hour. I can't tell you how many times I've had to skip eating just so I could sit on the phone the entire time.... :|

I know I know... I didn't have a choice. The item wasn't available locally, and I, again, don't have a credit card. Normally, my bank would treat it just like a credit card as far as disputing charges, but it's been over a month.

What bank issued the debit card?

If you don't think you'd qualify for a credit card I'd strongly suggest consider applying for a SECURED CREDIT CARD. Yes you'll have to give a $500 deposit for about 1 year which earns interest but at least it's a credit card and not debit/check.

Thanks for the advice. It's not an issue of not qualifying, it's an issue of I don't want another one. Like I mentioned, I finally got back out of debt and I intend to stay that way.

Just because you have a CC doesen't mean you have to max it out.

His point is that it offers better protection than a Debit. If you use it like a debit card(only purchase when you have the money), you will have no problems.. Unless you have no self control. :p

Sorry, it's a local credit union. And Eli, that's exactly the problem. I tend to spend money I don't have, so i avoid the situation. I've gotten better at it, but it's kinda like an alcoholic staying outta bars, ya know?

Smaulz - Eli is correct, that's what I was trying to convey.

However I understand your analogy and respect your decision not to use a credit card but in instances like this it could REALLY save you a lot of hassle.

I understand, and you're completely right. Basically I guess I'm back at the original question. What now?
