We did a big one in the 80's with a promise of no more ILLEGALS and better border control and immigration enforcement. So now we are going to do another BIGGER one but this time, it will work? LOL.

Uh huh.

No country on Earth would do such a thing, let alone do it again.

The United States of America is a country on Earth, and we did it, and we might do it again.
You have problems with this basic logic.

How about do not give them blanket amnesty/green card/citizenship/etc. before we are done with all of the LEGALS first? Gotta love how you keep saying "deporting" over and over again while ignore my statement about what would happen if you sneak in or overstay your visa at any sovereign nation. Any, it does not matter if it is a developed or developing country.

Would you be:

a) Allow to stay and become legal as you advocate so many times in this site just because you were able to stay below the radar and <insert more excuses>.

b) Kick out.

Same question to ALL posters that are advocating for ILLEGALS.

So,you really are advocating an immigration Gestapo to deport them. That's what it would take.

No, look like you do not understand logic.

Did it and it did not work but let try it again, right?

I do not claim to be so brilliant like certain posters here but I know that do the same thing over and over again but expect different result(s) = crazy/nut.

You are playing dumb here, you are better than that. Did I say anything about "deport"? I said many times no more blanket amnesty, let enforce immigration rule and law as they are in the book and that is my stance.

Nothing about deportation. Feel free to quote my exact words.

How did it not work?

Then - 3-4 million ILLEGALS
Now - 11 million ILLEGALS (at least)

Then - promise of border control/immigration enforcement...blah..blah..and more blah.
Now - promise of border control/immigration enforcement.. blah..blah..and more blah.(but it will really work this time).

Does that look like it was a successful policy to you?

Again, specifically, what didn't work? The folks who arrived since the 1980s would have come regardless of the amnesty. We offered them jobs and a dearth of death squads.

We have even more ILLEGALS than ever before, our border is a mess, our immigration rules and laws are being ignored by millions and millions of ILLEGALS and you think it was working fine with that big amnesty in the 80's?

Hell, if you think it was working fine, then why other countries would not follow our "successful model" and open their borders? Serious question and not a pretentious one.

You are right, it didn't work. So do us all a favor and explain what would need to be fixed in order for it to work or how you plan on collecting and deporting 11 million people (be sure to explain how this time, under your plan, we will be successful in rounding up all these people).

You seem to think the amnesty had any impact on immigrants' decisions to come here. Why would that factor in any way? If you're living in Shitholistan and you know if you can sneak into America, someone is going to hire you and there aren't death squads here like at home, would the fact that you could never get legal status here dissuade you in any way?

Also, despite the hysterical rhetoric, our border is far more secure now than at any previous time in our nation's history.

Serious question what is your source for the claim in bold?

How did it not work?

I'm not sure. It seems to have worked. After the amnesty we have fewer illegal immigrants.

No country on Earth would do such a thing, let alone do it again with more ILLEGALS.

Brazil gave amnesty to around 600,000 illegal immigrants.
Spain offered amnesty to 43,000 illegal immigrants (almost one percent of their total population!)
Jamaica is currently offering amnesty to their 20,000 or so illegal immigrants.

EDIT: I mathed wrong, correcting it.

Watch us.

Maybe we could take the Japanese approach where the government has refused to grant citizenship to Koreans whose families have been living in Japan for over three hundred years.

"immigration rule and law as they are in the book" means they're subject to deportation. If ICE had the funding and the manpower, they'd all be deported. That's the simple truth. And that's your position. Dunno why you work so hard to deny it.

You have no solution other than the status quo which isn't a solution at all.

Let me put it this way.

I do not speed, therefore, no speeding ticket for me.

You speed a lot, therefore, you would get a speeding ticket with heavy fine.

Does that mean I advocate ticketing for you because of hate/displeasure/etc. of you? Nope, it is by your own action, you reap what you sow...ie...ILLEGALS could face deportation by THEIR own actions, not by me wishing/calling upon them.

Are we clear now?

And you solution is do another big amnesty? Solution my butt. Why even bother or pretend to have a border.

US: 3-4 million last time and at least 11 million this time. From your examples, not even a drop in the bucket comparison.

I am a realistic person, that's why I laughed at DT's wall because it would not work.

They could sneak in or overstay the visas but then don't whine and bitch if ICE come for them and don't expect amnesty just because they stayed under the radar for years.

More secure? Really?

Scroll up and see my multiple replies to Jhhnn and other posters' suggestions. No one (at least not from me ) is advocating of deportation.

Are we clear now?

The only thing clear at this point is that you're incapable of being honest wrt this issue. When challenged to offer a solution to the problem as you see it you claim that the status quo is the solution.

If it is, why are you bitching about it? Oh, wait... I know... you're just here to vilify, right?

3-4 million last time, at least 11 million this time.

11 >>>>> 3-4 million.

I think you need to edit your claim. You're referring to the difference in the illegal population between the program passed during the Reagan administration and now.

The population is actually down between 2.5 and 4 million from its peak. So your statement that we have an larger illegal population than ever before is inaccurate.
