Wow that was unexpected at the end.. I mean I knew it was Mandy all the way but I was thinking cat-fight. Frank getting into the gay rights movement is just hilarious.
 
The preview showed that she's in a coma in the hospital, and the mother mentions the text, which Lip finds on her smashed-up phone! Dun dun dun!
 
S01E01 wasn't bad. Will watch more. Can't tell if it's suppose to be a dark Dawson's Creek/Party of 5 though. If so I won't be interested long.

I've never watched Dawson's Creek or Party of 5 but I'm going to go ahead and say no. 🙂

Shameless is fantastic, the wife and I look forward to it every week. On this third season, they seem to keep topping themselves in "WTF" moments.

story looks like its going to resolve itself. It looks like they are setting him up to leave, but this is Shameless, so I can see a twist where the phony wife won't go and Jimmy kills himself or the enforcer guy kills him.

Once he said he would pay for the little girls braces I think it hit him he was essentially Married with Children.
 
Now that we know he knows, if Lip doesn't smackdown that beeotch Mandy something fierce then I've lost all respect for him. The stuff with Frank is awesome comedy, I knew the one guy would call his bluff by making him have sex with a guy. Good for Kevin and V too, I wonder if all goes according to plan though.

I'm not so sure about smacking down Mandy. In a way, she's much more dedicated to Lip than Karen is. You could argue that she ran Karen down so that she wouldn't be able to mess up his life by getting pregnant. Sure her methods are beyond extreme but we are talking about Shameless.

Meanwhile, we've already seen in the past that Karen is only dedicated to Karen.

Yeah, I get all that, she is dedicated Lip and obviously sees his potential, but she has always rubbed me the wrong way and is too dark/emo sometimes for my liking. The way she's arrogant to Fiona and the rest of the Gallaghers pisses me off too, very stuck-up and from a superficial angle not even close to Karen in looks IMO (back before she turned emo herself, that is).
 
The show is starting to get a bit frustrating for me. Everything the family does is about keeping them exactly where they are without any bettering of themselves. Lip keeps getting shit handed to him, and rather than take advantage of it, he just pisses it away so he can stay exactly where he is. Fiona is pissed at Jimmy, who has spent most of the show attempting to raise her up, and refuses to even think about engaging the possibility of anything outside of keeping the status the same. The show would do better IMHO if they kept attempting to succeed in spite of Frank fucking it up for them.

Yeah, I was watching it thinking Frank's got it made, free beer from one group and women from the other. Then I was like I know how this is going to end.

Fiona is going to end up with the boss guy.

I agree with every one of your points. I was just arguing against smackdown because she was probably only looking out for Lip's best interests. At worst, I think he should just dump her because she's too extreme. Though I don't think he should get back with Karen either. She's still a self-centered sociopath.

And I think Karen is still hotter than Mandy even now.

It's not that I disagree with you, I just can't help but think at this point they're screwing themselves up more than Frank could. Lip's a perfect example of it. He's getting everything handed to him, yet he's turning it all down because he has a self defeating thing going on. Fiona is also happy with shit work (literally) rather than continue the whole going to community collage thing. Frank isn't doing any of that.. he's busy being gay/not gay.
