Sorry Karen:

Live by the crazy bitch lifestyle, die by the crazy bitch lifestyle.

Lip:

You saw what she did to Karen. Forget that you ever saw the text. Thank her for hooking you up with the MIT admissions guy. Take that shit and go rock some robotics at arguably the best place in the world to do so.

This would be awesome ... it's high school, it'll be a small burp in history!

It's not that I disagree with you, I just can't help but think at this point they're screwing themselves up more than Frank could. Lip's a perfect example of it. He's getting everything handed to him, yet he's turning it all down because he has a self defeating thing going on. Fiona is also happy with shit work (literally) rather than continue the whole going to community collage thing. Frank isn't doing any of that.. he's busy being gay/not gay.

I agree about Frank. He's been independent since the legal guardianship was awarded to Fiona and his storyline has been fantastic, IMO.

I agree about Lip. They even specifically spoke about it in one episode where he and Fiona argued that Lip needs to finish up high school and be successful but he didn't want to become some lame 9 to 5 dude or something. I can't remember the exact dialogue.

I disagree about Fiona, though. I think she has tried to improve her situation but she just ends up having to ditch those efforts because of something with the kids or the efforts themselves just result in nothing (like the club manager position). I think the college thing is just too difficult due to the time commitment or is just too expensive to risk any of the money they need for priorities like mortgage/rent/bills.

I hope not.

Season finale next week.

No point to let him live. His character has been a waste of screen time the whole season. The only way he'd be worth keeping around is if he whacks the drug lord and his psycho daughter and goes back to being a criminal. Good Jimmy is boring.

Exactly.

Cup Co. VP character -- not a fan.

Well, they actually left it open as to whether Jimmy is dead. So, I guess they could bring him back.

And unless the actor playing Lip is leaving the show he can't go to MIT. Unless they set next season during summer break.

Oh, and momma was banging Kevin for fun? Well, the actress looks GOOD for 56 years old. Very good.

Goodbye Karen and Jody.

I really don't know if the spoiler tags are necessary, but just in case...

Yeah, they left it wide open to bring Jimmy back at some point. Whether it'll be next season or the next, it will happen eventually. I feel like we'll either see him the last episode of next season or he'll come back the season after.

I really liked the ending with Frank and Carl, the show really touches a nerve sometimes. I really have no idea where they will go with the next season. Fiona is dating her boss? Frank will be boring sober or trying to get sober. I think Lip will go to MIT but shit will go down when they figure out he's "enlisted". Carl keeps up with his funny shit as usual. No idea what they'll do with Sheila, since she's kind of by herself now. Jody and Karen probably aren't ever coming back unless they can't think of anything new to write in 2 or 3 seasons. Ian gets found out and sent back, him and Mickey continue onward with their stupid good guy/bad guy forbidden romance routine.

Just saw the finale, definitely one of the best episodes of the season I thought, the entire time I'm thinking Jimmy would come back into the picture in the very last scene, but now I think he's gone for good. They certainly could bring him back and I hope they do because I thought he really helped steer the show in the first 2 seasons, but the whole "bye" thing with Fiona and the attempt to make us hate him in season 3 makes me wary he'll be back, we'll see.

I don't think they tried to make us hate him, I think they made us try to feel sorry for him. At least that's how I felt at the end.

I think if he was dead there would have been some clues. He'll show up sometime just as Fiona is REALLY close to finally being able to get things together and he'll throw a monkey wrench into the plans.

If the Brazilian guy didn't give Fiona the money, I would have assumed that Jimmy could still be alive. However, I bet the money was sort of a "severance pay" that the guy let Jimmy have. Now, whether it was to give to someone as sort of a "pay off" for his death or Jimmy just told her to have it because he knew he couldn't come back, I don't know.

Another thing is... what's going on with Frank? I'm guessing that he's either leaving town or going back home. The first one comes to mind because it seems like Frank is finally softening up to some of his kids, and he is leaving because he doesn't want to disappoint them since he knows he can't stop drinking. The latter is essentially the opposite... he wants to go home because he will stop.

Is it just me or did it look like Karen rolled her eyes as the door was being closed? As if she was faking the whole thing?

I love this show.

Frank telling Carl to "carry on" with the shaving was such a touching scene. It's a testament to the great writing and stellar acting that I can still feel any bit of sympathy for Frank after everything he's done.

I don't know what they're going to do next season but I can't wait. Is Lip gone? Is Ian gone? Is Frank gone? Is Jimmy gone? Is Karen gone?

Such a great show.
