Totally reccomend it. I don't even need to know extreme technical stuff, if a client gets really technical we can call on programmer folks to fill in.

Im a complete antisocial personal that is just in general an introvert. I also suck at casual chatter and stuff like that. I guess I gained confidence over the years as I slowly started to have to lead status calls with clients back when I was consulting.

But yeah, sales guy is the quarterback that takes care of the shit like casual chatting. I'm just the nerd they briefly point to in order to show off the product via demo.
Yeah I'm high end technical sales and the value of our products are generally high enough that I don't have to continuously cold call or knock on doors to get work. I manage about 10-15 major customers across North America and only have to develop relationships with a handful of key people in order to generally meet my quotas. Every few weeks I'll do a bit of travel to go see someone or talk about a project, but other than that most of the heavy lifting gets done by the guys behind me.

So that article didn't go into detail about hours worked.

Did they work normal 8 hour days and just 32 hours a week? Or did they work 10 hour days to meet the 40 hours a week?

I would love to work either a flex 9/80 or 4/10. Loved working 4/10 when I was a student worker. I've been trying to convince my boss to switch since we've got a full staff that can alternate days off, but his boss is more traditional. I know we have other agencies in the County that work flex schedules that still deal with customers, so there isn't really a reason why our agency couldn't do it. I know at least half my job could even be done from home so that would also work.

Actually that would kind of suck if you actually lose that day that means you make less money. Would rather just condense the time so I work the same hours, but it's just condensed into the 4 days. Unless they adjust the hourly wage so your yearly ends up being the same.

First, Microsoft only tested this in Japan. In Japan they are already use to working their asses off on a hourly and daily basis. They already work 10-16 hour days, five days a week. So, saying they were 40% more productive per day when they are working 25% more per day isn't alluding to much. Secondly, employers like mine look to abuse their employees as much as they can. Its not the job that stresses them out, but their employers' bullshit. For instance, constantly being under the threat of losing your job because some dumb-ass bean-counter thinks the answer to everything is to fire your workforce, including those making the largest profit for them.

Sounds like "American-style Corporate Capitalism" in a nutshell.
