Because once you hold a gun you automatically fill your family full of holes? Damn, you are a stupid git.

Like I said, there are people who can safely own guns, and I'm around a ton of them. Many carry their guns with them everywhere they go. I know they have them, I know they're loaded. And I'm cool with it, and I feel safer around them.

Then there are the people who should not be allowed to own a gun. They think it is a toy, or only meant for killing.

OH! You're one of those people that take what I say then takes it to extremes. That's not what I said, don't put words in my mouth, unless you can pop back through my posts and find where I said "As soon as you pick up a gun you will kill someone"

So what the hell does this mean?

I did. Luckily however I was in a range, not at home with my family.

Totally agree. In all the lame posts by Hal that was one of the most blatently dumb ones.

If you're going to be more dangerous than usual, it's best to do it in the range.

So you are in fact saying someone is by nature more dangerous if they have a gun.

Then how can you not say the same of someone who owns a model rocket. Or a chainsaw?

You're saying an object manipulates a person.

I'm not saying their nature changes, I'm saying their capability changes.

If the mere act of picking up a weapon makes you more dangerous, especially if you actually believe that, you should never touch another weapon again. If you are not confident that you can handle that weapon without endangering others then you have absolutely no business touching it. Period.

However, the rest of us need not be punished due to your lack of rather basic ability.

Too drunk for reply, I'll get back to you tomorrow.

If they owned a steak knife or a chainsaw, they also had the capability to kill. Hell, if they have a PILLOW they have the capability to smother someone.

Unless they're trained and accurate with the gun, they will BARELY be able to use the gun.

You do not need a tool to kill, they just make it easier. HAL is an irrational emotional moron, there is no point arguing this with him.

Wow...how about we fix everybody and just cut off all our thumbs? I mean, that's what gives us the "capability" to use tools and weapons, take those away and the world would be a much safer place right?

You have obviously never played DOOM.

Very true, but steak knives and chainsaws serve other purposes. I also do not support people being able to carry around steak knives and chainsaws.

This has nothing to do with carrying around. You're saying that even having them at home is bad.

As for the thumbs comment, thumbs give us the ability to use tools. Tools allow us to kill better.

But hey, trying to argue this with you is less productive than debating the meaning of life with a cat that has suffered a stroke, has cataracts, is deaf and mute.

Go buy a bomb shelter and hide. Paranoid ill informed illogical fool. Actually no...troll.

Like we have a sex offender registry, what about a gun owner one. Anyone who owns a gun is registred along with their name and address. This way people can the area can know who does and doesn't own a gun, and who is a potential danger to the community. Seems fair enough, own a gun get on a public database.

I am sure I am not the only one who would like to know if any of my neighbors are harboring a gun or two or more.

Why not just presume everyone has a gun and knows how to use it; like every good American should? (MHO)
I would be more interested in knowing who can't qualify for ownership...

Well seeing as you're being so reasonable yourself rather than just resorting to childish comments I'm more than happy to offer my view in response to this post...

What do you have against beef eating lumberjacks? I bet you hate mom and apple pie, too...

Your "views" have no logic behind them and cannot be debated. Childish? No, childish is calling you names. I pointed out you're an illogical, paranoid fool, and likely just trollin'.
