But, there cannot be a single thread (or it's of no interest to anyone or rare) in here that does not deteriorate within the first 10 posts into oblivion. It's a LOT worse than you make it sound. It's more than people expressing themselves.

Considering you are known here as the biggest baiter and instigator of flame wars I find your comment disingenuous.

The moderation in this forum used to be heavier and it did next to nothing. The problem is with the forum rules and the community they have produced. I've discussed the problem with moderators and administrators over the years and that's the root of the problem.

Members can troll, bait, and shill to their heart's content as long as they aren't overly vulgar or personal. Furthermore, these instigators are actually protected in their behavior because it's against the forum rules to "call out" another member, so there's zero accountability on this board.

This forum is know around the web as being a joke. The administration made their bed and now they have to lie in it.

To be fair, the lighthanded moderation at [H] hasn't made that forum any better than this one.

A bit of a hard comment, but yeah some members seem to know where the line is and make a living on the forum derailing threads and trolling.

EDIT:

I think [H] vs. Anand forum is about personal taste and _really_ depends on the section of the forum.

Known? By who? You and steadfast AMD fans? Will, you enjoy the pathetic drama. I don't.
And notice, you went after me personally yet again. You simply cannot focus on anything but the people who speak. Not what they are speaking of.

I frequent quite a few tech fora and none come close to this one's levels of flamewars, fanboy-ism, and unpoliced trolling.

If it weren't for the few but highly worthwhile posts that I still find every couple of days, I wouldn't bother with these boards at all.

That said, there is such a thing as too much moderation (OCN comes to mind as an immediate example of this)

OCN and other boards also have more subforums and sub-subforums, which seems to help... though I've definitely seen a lot of fanboy flaming going on over there as well. I have proposed this but the mods think that VC&G doesn't have enough traffic to warrant splitting it up into AMD/NV/general VC&G.

I also think that video card forums tend to have more fanboy problems than other subforums no matter which site you're on, due to the more or less evenly matched nature of the fanboy wars. It's not lopsided like in CPUs. And other subforums like Storage tend to have more even-keeled participants who care more about reliability than overclocking and such.

forum should be kept open. both side allowed to voice their opinions and defend their opinions.

only rule that should be enforced is. keep ALL posts at a professional level.
