It is a damn shame that the Democrats aren't seeing the gift that Ron Paul is handing them.
He is exposing to a lot of people the ills of the Republican party. But much more than that, if he runs as a 3rd party candidate he will all but hand the Democrats the election.
What more could the Democrats ask for? Hell, you guys couldn't beat Bush the second time around. Think about that. It's not like the Democrats are doing well at the plate, and here comes a guy who could literally hand you all an election in 2008. And you want him to drop out now? Jesus, you Democrats aren't very bright.
And to those who are bad-mouthing Paul, let me remind you that it has been all of us who have been blasting Republicans for overspending, it has been all of us who have have blasted the Bush admin for invading Iraq, it has been all of us who have blasted away at the Patriot Act, and it has been all of us who have been disgusted at the aggressiveness toward Iran.
He has been right there with us, fighting his own party even.
He is also the ONLY candidate who has the guts to talk about the failures of the war on drugs.
So, some of his ideas seem loony. So what? I think UHC is loony. I think being in Iraq for 100 years is loony. I think a 23% national sales tax is loony. I think ignoring a 9 trillion dollar deficit is loony.
The guy deserves some respect, a lot more than many of you give him.
And you Democrats that think he should drop out now aren't loony, you're just plain dumb.

He got 3% of the vote!!!!!!!! 3% !!!!!!! Highly unlikely that he would make any difference at all in the fall elections with that type of return.

If he runs as a 3rd party, Paul will snag enough votes from the Republicans to guarantee the Democrat wins. He wouldn't need that many.
If that pisses you off, too bad. Maybe the Republicans would be ok if they would have stuck with their values. Instead they've fallen head-over-heels in love with a bunch of whacked-out Anti-American neo-conservatives.

I don't want Paul to drop out, I wanted an Obama Paul ticket, but I don't think it's going to happen. Also, I support all the stuff he supports that you mentioned, but don't know about the stuff people say is crazy. I couldn't support him, for example, if he's right about all that stuff you mentioned and thinks black people should be slaves, just to pull something our of my, well, imagination. A stopped clock is right twice a day.

Then again, the only shame I'm seeing is the number of twisted SOBs who still support the Clinton crime family.
RP should drop out just before the convention. He's worth listening to until then...

whose run??? For what? President?
Do you speak English? What the hell is your problem?

Black people as slaves?
Please, Moonbeam, you know that's a bad analogy. I hope anyway.
Paul has stood up for the rights of ALL Americans more so than any other candidate.

In 2004 Bush won Florida 5%. If Paul won the same 4% he won in the primary it would not be enough to change the results of the state.
There were only a few states where something along the lines of 3% would swing it the other direction. Plus it is hard to tell how many Democrat votes Paul would get.

I told you I don't know enough about Paul to know why he's considered a nut or if there is any valid reason so I pulled something out of my ass, as I said. How about the stuff with the gold standard or the federal reserve. You tell me why he's nuts, he's your guy. I think Democrats and gun control are nuts.

You get 'people' to the convention by winning primaries. Tonight McCain just got ALL of the delegates from Florida. Which means all the Ron Paul people in the world can go door to door or show up at the convention, none of them will have a say when it comes time for the floor vote.Originally posted by: Mavtek3100
Ron Paul will not drop out anytime soon, he came in 2nd in 2 states. His supporters are most of the delegates, as that is their plan. If there is a young guy who comes to your house and tells you he is running as a Delegate for the Republican party, I can pretty much tell you he's not supporting Duncan Hunter. Sure it matters to an extent who people vote for, but it matters more about the people who are the delegates who go to the national convention.
All this is a big joke for the Ron Paul people. Everyone goes to vote like it means something when all that matters in a brokered convention is who has the most people at the convention.

Ron Paul isn't going anywhere and anyone who doesn't like it had better get used to the idea. If Paul doesn't get in office then no Republican will. You think Paul supporters don't have any power then chew on that. 😀

You mean McCain, Romney, and Huckabee?
Huckabee is going to stay in it for the long haul. He like John Edwards is hoping to play king maker.
Unlike in the Democrate Side where I candidate has influence, but not out right say who his delegates go to. On the Republican side, the Candidate with the delegates gets to say who they go to.
If Huckabee can snag 250-300 delegates, which is still possible and McCain and Romney split the rest fairly evenly. Huckabee will put McCain over the top.
Its hard to see how McCain will lose the nomination. If he doesnt outright win it, the Huck is likely to put him over the top.
At this time, theres very little chance of Romney getting the nomination outright. McCain is going to win CA, NY, and NJ. NY and NJ are winner take all.
