Should religion be banned?

As much as I despise religion, I have to recognize that it is still a part of human society. A great many people are too stupid to think on their own, and therefore need guidance by some make-believe "greater power". Yes, I know it's pathetic, but it's necessary. Without religion many fools would be lost, and society as we know it would collapse. Hopefully, in the future, we will be able to free ourselves from the bonds of stupidity. Until that time, religion will be a part of our lives. Everyone knows this.

Everyone know this.

Without freedom of conscience there is no freedom. If you tried to take away my freedom to choose my religion or lack thereof I would have to kill you. No, not figuratively.

Zebo shows the typical liberal thought process: "freedom is great, as long as it's the freedom to do things I approve of or believe things I believe in. Otherwise, it needs to be reigned in."

Banning religion is as bad as the religious forcing religion on you. We will not stoop to their level. Plus first amemndment stuff.

PokerGuy recites the same old tired "conservative" talking points.

Of course religion shouldn't be banned. I'm perfectly content with its self-induced decline. The more people who don't identify with a religion, the better.. but they have to decide those things for themselves; come to their own realizations and conclusions.

Thanks for saving me the time it would take to reply 😉

Hate to break it to you, but while I'm sure in your mind, religion=stupidity, they're not the same. Even when religion is gone, stupidity will still reign, strong as ever.

Yes, religion should be banned. Should we ban certain world views and ideologies as well? Seems like it would be hypocritical not to. It would be good if we can get everyone on the planet to be on the same philosophical page. How shall we define this philosophy?

Well as happens so often with this fuse talk thingi I hit some key by accident and my half finished post self posted. Then I lost part of what I had left so '...' here, just means 'fuck it'.

This, above all else, is the fundamental flaw in liberalism.
