What if he was your neighbor, for the past forty years, and earlier in the day he had pulled your daughter from a tree?

-John

What if I wanted her ass to stay in the tree?

What if I had a rainbow shooting out of my ass?

Food and water enough to get the hell out of here.

No chance he would have been my neighbor that long because I would have had him reported by then. Besides, I don't have a daughter or any kids for that matter, let alone married, and I'm no where close to being 40, so it isn't possible anyway :p

Besides, what does it matter? The law is the law. Too bad.

If they want to be here, then I'll welcome them - as long as they go through the process LEGALLY.

You're on a vacation to Mexico, and you are drowning. The Mexicans all around you look at you and say "look at the beloved patriot! He is drowning!"

Perfect. Sounds like an ideal world.

We all are human species separated by the borders that politicians setup...or so called religious "leaders".
Problem is, that some people get brainwashed and start to believe that they're different than others...

Who's more legal? Birth date, location of birth? etc...?

What about human moral sides? not just so-called "legal" ones?

WHY DO YOU BOTHER?

Its to late all have made thier choice. Your seed is from a differant tree than 66%of these + the % for these times.

YOU can't change their hearts, mind and most of all their spirits. So the time has past for thw words of your seed . The light is there for all to see but many paths there be.THe true path is straight and narrow.

The path your on requires that you speak of the age of change and what those changes intail and the road to enlightenment and the metal that it forms.

Walk in peace. Fall not from your present path the light awaits you.

It could be pretty good, if wood was used to build those so-called houses...
Unfortunately, plywood is used...and most of "builders" are :

First - wood (or metal) is used for stud framing. Plywood is typically used for sheathing/subflooring or - at most - creating a non-structural wall (even then it will have studs for support)

Now - a trailer is a completely different story

Well, i thought that houses in tornado s usual zones
would be made of concrete for the structure and bricks
for the walls....

I would surely make a very bad entrepreneur, profit wise...

You would make a bad entrepreneur considering that most locations in torado alley get hit once every 500 years or so. The chances of someone's house being hit even once while they live there is pretty small so I would think you would be hard pressed to find someone willing to pay significantly more for a house constructed to completely withstand a tornado. What is more common is a safe room/area in a house that has concrete walls for safety. These are usually built to withstand heavy winds (150mph+) and withstand impacts from debris flying at 100mph (obvisouly depends on the type of debris but usually wood studs are considered as that is a common building material and is likely to be flying around)

You will find significantly different construction techniques used in areas with a much higher probability of natural disaster. All concrete houses along hurricane zones - earthquake resistant building requirements in California etc

If this is in response to me, please tell me what that has to do with anything that I've mentioned.

It was in response to you, and it was to illustrate the fact that there is something beyond laws, and that is compassion, or empathy.

The Mexicans don't have to rescue you, they could just laugh and point at the beloved patriot dying before there eyes. But they will rescue you, as you and I know.

Similarly, you should feel obliged to rescue a person, potentially your neighbor for forty years, that is drowning. Albeit he is drowning illegally.

You must have missed what I said. Here, read it again:

If an illegal is injured from the tornado, I would help him with the injury, then ship his butt outta here.

I'd help him, yes. I never said otherwise. What I DID say is once his injuries from the tornado are taken care of, then send him back where he belongs.

Isn't a hard concept, now is it? ;)

You must have glossed over my posts, or you have no inkling of compassion or humanity, when I asked you "what if he had been your neighbor for 40 years?" or "What if he had saved your daughter, earlier in the evening?"

No - You would turn and immediately deport him. Because he was here illegally.

I know from your earlier posts, you are a young pup, and maybe I am showing my age when I say that a good neighbor, is priceless. A good friend is priceless. A good employee is priceless.

That you immediately fall back on Law, is scary.

You do understand that deporting someone who has been living here for forty years is almost a fate worse than death?

Uprooting his entire life, and shipping him to a country he does not know.

Although, I guess, after a tornado destroys his home, is as good a time as any to do it.

But it is cruel and unusual punishment.

I'm sorry that following the law is considered a sad or scary thing. The fact that you and others feel that way worries me, actually.

If the law was followed in the first place, he wouldn't be there for 40 years, not even close. Besides, we can always come up with some hypothetical situations for anything we so desire, tailored so as to try to prove our own points.

The law is the law. Sorry that following the law seems "unkind" but that's the way it is. If I sound uncompassionate, well, what about all the citizens that illegal has been mooching off the system from for those 40 years? Look at it from THEIR perspective.

If he was really such a good guy, he wouldn't be here illegally. A good neighbor is not an illegal one.

Most of the Illegal Aliens here in the US are here to provide a better life for themselves and their families. That is their sole goal.

Yes they are here illegally, but for you to claim they are "bad guys," is almost laughable. That's like saying that someone that did 56 in a 55 is a bad guy.

The Law, is not in stone in America. Tomorrow, all illegals may be granted immunity again, just at the grins and giggles of Congress.

What IS THE LAW is that a person has compassion for his fellow man.

Can I sue America for false advertising? That's lawful? Right?

The New Colossus

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
