Should I turn in my roommate?

Must every thread degenerate into arguments?

The question is whether or not the roommate should be turned in. The issue at hand is that the roommate has illegal substances (note there is no question as to whether or not it should be legal, it isn't, end of discussion) that could get him into trouble.

Argument should revolve around pros and cons of keeping quiet or turning him in.

Seriously, I'm a pot smoker myself, but I'd never be as retarded as to have two ounces in my dorm room...and then selling it...fvcking moronic. This is what I'd do..

I'd talk to him about it and ask him not to keep it in the room with you guys. Put it in his car, keep it at a friend's, or at his own home back in BFE. Just let him know that you don't want to be exposed to it, because if you guys get caught with it in the room-its your ass too.

More than likely, he just thinks you're a cool roomate and didn't really think about the consequences...If he's cool, he'll understand either not do it again or put it somewhere else. If it happens again, then I'd report it to the campus authorities, but not the cops...

If he refuses or acts like an asshole about it, then do what you like...if he was a dick about it I'd just outright get the cops on him...

Maybe I should have qualified the fact that I severely dislike anyone who blatantly breaks the law to a degree larger than a few miles over the speed limit or something trivial.

you do realise that it was against the law for black people to vote for a long time, same with women too. Oh yeah, slavery was complely legal and those who helped to free slaves could be arrested.
Obviously the law is the highest moral guideline

And these "trivial" things like a "few miles" over the speed limit can decicde between life & death, when someone smokes pot, it only "hurts" himself.

Of course, it really depens on what kind of guy the other is. But if it's just a hippie or somewhat, he doesn't hurt ya. IMO, druggies != pot smoking. There was a study in Europe, that proofed that a lot of top manager smoke some time a joint just to relax and stuff, not such a biggie.

And that makes EVERYTHING okay, right? Cuz Europe allows pot smoking?

Every thread that nik comes to ends up as an argument.

Pot is not a drug. To me, and many others, it is just as trivial as going 10 mph over the speed limit or smoking a cigarette when you are underage. To you, it may not be....but that's why we live in the U.S. and we can have differing opinions...just because something is illegal doesn't make it wrong...and vice versa...

You should learn to be less uptight, nik...you are going to develop some major hemorhoids at a young age
