That's the point - the buttons were not visible due to display parameters. What I mean is this - I was in process of updating Flash -yes, yes (buttons) and then Google Chrome was installed - no choice of mine. And, ENTER caused it to install.

I now know better - and change the screen DPI before updating Flash or anything else with ties to Google. :)

Weird, I guess I don't update Flash enough on my Windows VM because I didn't know Adobe pushed Chrome with them for FF. For IE they push the Google toolbar. But you can't really blame Chrome for either of your issues, Adobe is the one including it by default and your DPI is what made the buttons invisble.

I just updated Flash on my mother's machine, and it wanted to install Chrome. I don't like the practice of piggybacking software. It's a cheeseball tactic, and is undignified for a professional outfit like Google.

Yea, it's disappointing for sure. But given how hard it is to get a browser in front of a lot of people I can't say I blame them. FF and IE were the only ones with any real marketshare recently despite the grassroots following of others like Opera. And Chrome seems to have ran past Opera without a second thought. So apparently it's working pretty well.

I have not seen Adobe Flash updates install anything other than the update (yet) .. but I do keep an eye on the installer screens just in case something idiotic, like Norton or Bing tries to get it self added in.

Good point. I have other issues with Adobe. As for DPI, that has to be in order to see (glaucoma, detached retina surgery, etc.) I have adapted. :)

I didn't figure you had it set like that just for the aesthetics. =) And that's something that Adobe should fix, you would think accessibility would be a major point of theirs when designing their products...

Adobe products have gotten to be generally junk. Just look at all these updates to Flash and Shockwave, not to mention the very bloated Adobe Reader, of which version X sucks. It insists on keeping a "last opened file list" with no way to disable it. Many times, I will open a .pdf to view it, then it probably gets deleted. And if I do save it, it won't be in the Temp Folder. So having it on a recent opened list is useless, as the file will not be where it thinks it was before. I will stay with Reader 9.4.5.

This is probably for another thread, but if you dislike Adobe Reader, give "Foxit" a try. I don't use PDFs that often, so someone that uses them every day may have a different opinion but it's worked fine for me. I've uninstalled Reader and haven't had it for about a year or so.

You could also try Evince. I don't know how the Windows version works, but I like it a lot on Linux. There's also a link on the page for other libre pdf readers. The only one I've tried on that link is Sumatra. It's a little stripped, but works well as a portable app. I'd rather use just about anything other than Adobe.
