I think you're a little too paranoid about getting a flat tire. Drive your own car, get chicks.

I'm just thinking worst case scenario. I've driven cross country before, and I never worried. Had a spare, etc.

But with this car, the tires aren't normally stocked anywhere, so I would be in a greater bind if I did get a flat or two.

this is why in the garage thread I said to stay with RFTs if you can't carry a spare. Don't you at least have roadside assistance? If not BMW Assist, you can get "towing & labor" for $8 total for 6 months through insurance (AAA is overrated).

All in all, depending on what other cars / space they have, don't drive it on a road trip... impractical (which is why I choose a car that does everything).

I do have a spare. It's one of the original 18" wheels and tires I had before I replaced them all with 19's. I do have roadside assistance, so i wouldnt be totally screwed.

They aren't? I don't see why not.

My 19in pirelli's on my M3 were replaced within a hour at a local shop in Mass. when I had a flat going back to NY, so not sure why your tires would be so hard to find.

hmmmm.. maybe it was because I had to buy four that made it so that I had to wait a week to get them..

Are you kidding? You can get any set of tires on the planet within 24 hours from tire rack.
I doubt your tires are anything special, after all, they are only tires.

RFTs are difficult in randomplace, USA... regulars are not so much.

The way I see it - the problem here isn't really being able to replace your tire... it's fitting that spare and all your other roadtrip stuff in that trunk.

yeah, worthless thread. what are you OP, 19?

one would think you would have been able to make such decisions on your own, by now, rather lamely attempt to flex your doucheyness on a geek forum.

jerkface

Whatever brah, I don't depend on a car to spend time with women. I do just fine in my '01 Crown Vic with 3 hubcaps and no radio.

I wasn't saying I depend on the car. The girl I was with this weekend didn't even know what kind of car I drove until she saw me with it last night. And she's the kind of girl that doesnt care what I drive.

and you seem like the kind of dude that does care. ...so what does that say?

Get a tire repair kit, a nice bicycle pump, and leave the full sized spare at home. Cars are meant to be driven. Just take it and go.

Just buy an M Mobility Kit.

As long as you were reasonably careful in picking your new wheels (that is, you made sure they have the same rolling diameter as stock), there will be no problem using one 18" wheel if necessary, but if it were me I'd just use the Mobility Kit.

I do care about my car.. yes. I don't care what people think about me in it. I'm not the biggest fan of how the car looks honestly, but I LOVE the way it drives, which is why i bought it. Its fun.

You really didn't need to make such a long brag thread about your BMW Z4 with 19" rims and how it gets the babes.

oh, and fix-a-flat ftw

Thats exactly how i saw this post.

And why would you brag about owning a Zed-4 any way, thats like announcing you're gay to the world.

No worries.

this, quite honestly. dont even worry about tire problems or anything, there is a very slim chance you'll get them. if it does happen, so what? its not the freaking end of the world.

now go have fun in your z4 you lucky duck. 🙂

Or go to the store and buy a 12VDC compressor for $30.

Oh wait, we're talking about a BMW owner, where the cost of accessories is inversely proportional to the length of their penis.

Yeah, he better get the $130 one.

WTH did I do to deserve this stupid personal attack? The M Mobility kit is a nice package that includes everything you need to safely get back on the road without destroying your damaged tire. If you don't like it, fine, but if anyone is whipping out his E-penis, it's you, jackass.
