I'd much rather have that weight in lots of ribeyes. My guess is that large of a steak can't be cooked that well or taste all that great.

exactly what i was thinking.

yea it's gotta be tough as hell.
I hate tough meat. I like mine Tender and Juicy.

8000 peeps have done it, even an 11 y/o boy. One dude ate 2 in an hour.

If you are just passing through though I'd avoid it cause...

If it were just a bunch of normal-sized steaks (whatever the cut) that added up to 72 oz, I'd say go for it. As a single slab of beef, you should probably just stay away.

Or just stop in and ask where they order their bulk beef.

I'm a pretty big eater, but I could not get close to finishing that. I'd rather have a GOOD meal and pay for it.

You have to remember that you also have to eat everything on that plate, not just the steak.

IIRC, there were a few that finished that task. One of them was a grandmother. If you win, you won't have to pay and your name will be on the restaurant's wall hall of fame.

Approximately 8,000 people have done it.

In their stats and facts page, it says about 7K. I wonder how many did it in the last 5 or 10 years.

LOL @ their payment policy... "we accept cash, gold, silver bullion....."

I can eat a lb or two of meat easily but over 4 lbs plus all the dressings and stuffs on the plate within 1 hr? No way, eating should be pleasure and not an competition...but it is just me.

Line pants with foil, open zipper, drop meat into pants. This would work.

Carlene and Richard Lefevre, a couple from Henderson, NV, have eaten the steak dinner at least 10 times since their first attempt 1995. Both of them usually complete the meal in less than 30 minutes.

The record is actually 90 seconds.

I say why ruin a trip. I'd pay for a dinner I feel like eating.
