Should I be worried? Lost 30 pounds in a year. I'm not trying.

I give zero fucks about what I eat, I don't actively exercise, and my day job involves sitting most of the time. But I do have 20 dogs that I take care of on a daily basis, so it's not like I'm completely sedentary.

That said, I went from 155 -> 125 in a year - I haven't been this light since I was 16. At 155 I was a fatass, double chin and big ol gut. At 125, I look better, but I certainly don't appreciate the manlet weight. My ideal weight is closer to 135-140.

Should I check myself out for cancer or just lift weights?

That percentage of weight loss, with all things being equal, is alarming to me. Could be cancer, stress, or nothing... definitely worth looking in to.

How old are you? How tall are you? Even 155 for an adult male seems really small. I can't imagine an adult male being 155lbs and being a "fatass"

What else changed? Did you start taking any medications?

I lost 20lbs over the course of a summer due to a medication. I didn’t even notice but my friends and family did.

I’d definitely go see a doctor.

i was always a fatass, because i watched TV and ate snacks and i have never excercised in my life.

then i went to college, got interested in stuff that was better than food, and shrank from 100Kg to 83Kg and lean and sexxxy as a panther... within a few months.

when i say "better than food", i don't mean drugs, i mean activities, people, work. just having something to do meant that my calories-burning-hours were much longer and my sit-get-fat-lower-metabolism hours were fewer.

BAM !

If you haven't changed anything else in your lifestyle I'd get that checked out tbh.

Seriously everything else ok bathroom stuff, sleep etc?

I have sleep apnea, ulcers, and an insane amount of stress.

34 5'8 asian male. It's the asian dilemma, skinny fat - it all goes to the stomach and chin.

I got 20 ducking dogs and work 2 jobs covering > 80 hours week (one of those jobs is taking care of said dogs).

5'8 @ 155lbs seems tiny.

5'8 @ 125lbs seems unhealthy tiny.

I'd recommend a doctor.

Jesus man...yeah that's not good. At the very least get the vitals and labs pulled. Wonder what your blood pressure is? The first thing they are going to do is get you on a lifestyle modification and try to get some of that stress out of your life. You're only 34. That's not a sustainable lifestyle.

I weigh the same and did the exact same thing a few years back excepts in months. I also had chest pains and palpitations. It was all due to stress.

I already had a heart problem so they ran a ton of tests and only found one thing which was kinda normal for my life long heart issue. I even started a beta blocker than I'm still on today. Once I stopped the stressor things slowly went back to normal.

yeah I mean my stress levels are through the roof but still...
My last job had me in a constant state of maximum stress. I lost 25 lbs without trying. Dropped 3 pants size. Ate a garbage diet had not been to the gym in a year & a half, and no exercise regimen other than occasionally walking the dogs. Ended up leaving that job and my weight stabilized and went back up 1 pants size. I am now going back to the gym to get healthy.
I vote stress is the culprit.

This is me. Except instead of leaving the job I just took on a new position. Lol
