Nice, what are you running your card at?
I got P6990 with Rig in system, but that was at 4.0GHz and 1125/1350
I will run it again tonight since I bumped the GPU up last week, but this past weekend had time to run some testing on my CPU. I can hit 5.0 GHz with my chip, but ended up sticking to 4.6 GHz.
I was running at 4.0 GHz before as never really had a need to go higher. (and was able to do it at stock volts)
Towards end of last week had it at 4.4, now at 4.6.
I won't go higher for daily use now until end of its life with me. 4.6 is plenty.
Don I'm considering adding another 7850 as well.
In the best case scenario it will be 30-50% faster than a 7970, but there are a lot of drawbacks as well. Crossfire isn't ideal.
I think a better idea would be to wait at least another 6 months or so for prices to settle some more.
That's hot IMO. Nice find.SuperBiiz shows the Asus in stock for $254 you can use coupon code HOMERUN to get $15 off. Coupon expires today tho.

Do it, Don!![]()
Very nice.Ill probably putting Goliath up for sale in the fs section. Probably getting a 680 from a member
Very nice.
It seems that we're both not completely happy with the performance of the 7850. I was under the impression that I would be able to run any game at 1080p on it maxed out, when in reality Crysis and Crysis 2 require something more powerful (probably Metro 2033 and a few other games as well).

Yeah Crysis 2 is a hardware headache, similar to your avatar.everybody's definition of b eing able to run a game maxed out is different.
I'm not content with my 1125mhz 7970 in crysis 2 maxed out @ 1080, that's not saying it isn't playable.
There was a link to an Asus 7850 in another thread for ~$240. I was hoping you would get it because I'm interested as well. I think it will soundly beat a GTX 680 across the board. The only real downfall is the potential lack of crossfire profiles, IMO. The Asus cards run cool and quiet so heat and noise should not be factors.I was just notified that my 7850 order for a 2nd Asus model was out of stock.
Decided to cancel order. Holding out for now unless I get the impulse itch on a 2nd in stock Asus.
I am actually happy with my 7850.... since its performing like a 7950
