WTF is wrong with you people? There is a SERIOUS attack on free speech going on right now, and you are "sick of him complaining about it all the time?" WTF is wrong with you?
The problem, Jack, is that Stern has nothing to say. If you had a radio personality who had anything important to say on the radio then people would be more likely to support his right to free speech. Like I said I am all for it, and I don't support anything that illegalizes Stern, but at the same time anything that hurts him is funny IMO. This guy is a scumbag, through and through, so he has to expect that most people don't give a sh*t about his complaining.
If you don't like him, that is fine. But YOU make that choice and can turn the channel. If he was being taken off the air because of poor ratings, that would suck, but I would have no problem with it AT ALL. The problem here is, he's is being FORCIBLY removed by the government despite very high ratings.

AND, for 10 years Stern was on CC stations, with no problems and they could care less what he did as long as he brought in the dollars. They took him off ONLY after he came out against Dubya. CC being a company that is firmly behind Dubya did not like that. They then removed him from 6 markets and claimed it was for some BS indecent incident, one that in the past they had no problems with. CC is a hypocritical company and a puppet for the Dubya administration.

Well, XM is owned by the same company that does Clear Channel, so censorship will probably still be high. I would go with Sirrus.

XM has a number of XL - extreme language - stations, plus... XM has Playboy Radio. Put howard on Playboy Radio.. it's a PPV radio station....
ths way only those who WANT to hear him will...
WTF are you talking about? You mean you have to pay ANOTHER fee for Playboy Radio? You are already PAYING for XM, he should be able to go to whichever channel he wants on XM. You know what, I think they should make fvcking Christian radio shows PPV. That way, the only people that WANT to hear that crap will.

I think Voltaire said it best.

I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it

Millions of listeners do. Just because you don't think he has anything important to say doesn't mean they feel the same. I don't want my fscking Government to tell me what I can or cannot listen to on the airwaves, especially the Dub's Administration who have their mouths firmly around the Johnsons of the Ridiculous..err..the Religious Right.

See, in this situation, freedom of speech only applies to religious whackos and those self appointed morality police that are trying to take away our freedom of choice. Anyone who doesn't tow their party line must be a morally decrepit heathen and is contributing to the pollution of society.

Unfortunately some can't see how priceless freedom of speech is until it is taken away from them.

A funny hypocrisy I'll note - and not direct at you, but note in general - is that I'll bet my top dollar that some of the people who are defending him are also the same people who say that we shouldn't have gay marriages because "it's just wrong.".

Ch 205 Playboy Radio Premium A Premium Adult Channel

Order Playboy Radio on XM Satellite Radio. Only $2.99 per month.

It's porno on the radio... that's why it's a PPV channel.
It's porn on cable radio.

So you get Playboy and SPICE on your Cable TV for free i guess?

Actually it's the sheep who supports him fault. Republicans are supposed to be about personal responsibility but they try and legislate their Morality down everyones throats i.e. Censorship and Marriage.

No but I can get porn on my cable internet.

I'm assuming they are charging extra for porn simply because of supply and demand. There is a big enough demand that people will pay extra for stuff like that, NOT because the government labeled it as indecent.

I doubt you have listened much to the show, as opposed to watching him on E! The E! show is a shadow of the radio show, which is the real showcase for his talent. The E! show tends to emphasize the naked-girls aspect of the show, which is really only a tiny fraction of what they do. IMO Howard is one of the smartest, most talented humorists in the world. He really does have a lot of intelligent things to say about about issues, and his present quagmire.

Why would you presume that? Howard has been a vocal proponent of gay rights, and the rights of gays to marry. I am a huge Stern fan, and all in favor of gay marriage, notwithstanding the fact that I am an active-duty military member.

I have a response, but really it would just take this thread so far off base that I shouldn't :D

Misinformation. ClearChannel DOES NOT own XM. They're just a minor stockholder, and this information came from Howard Stern himself.

Howard is really funny and interesting to listen to. If you don't like what he has to say, then stop wasting your time and turn of your fvcking radio, jeez. Actually, it seems like you have a lot of time on your hands because of your high post count... just wasting time.

He has indicated a willingness to consider either. Other things being equal I would rather see him go to XM because the radios seem better-designed, and it sounds like a better service, not to mention that it seems to be heavily favored by carmakers (no surprise, since it appears to be substantially owned by Honda and GM).
