The left is way more violent dude, take your head out of the sand and look around.

I'll believe you when you can provide an example of elected members of federal or state governments outright calling for political violence that don't have an R after their name. When's the last time a dem called for lynching for example? (Mississippi state Rep. Karl Oliver (R because of course he is), pretty sure on 20 May, 2017)

I'll get you another one if and only if you can match me one for one. I'll probably do Rand Paul.

If you want to go on the supporters, there's no contest. Alex Jones is making it way too easy.

These people are far more common on the right. This is so shocking and bizarre precisely because Sandersites tend not to do this sort of thing. Whereas it's de rigeur for you degenerates.

Hint: between Sanders and Trump, only one of them said anything about possible "second amendment solutions" and promised to cover legal bills for their supporters' violence.

So in short, you can rot in Hell too.

To bring this somewhat back on topic, I'm a little confused as to how allowing people to carry would have helped in this situation. I personally don't have a carry permit, but if I did I doubt I would have been carrying while playing baseball. Where would you put your weapon? You're not going to play very well while carrying and don't even think about sliding into second either. So what do you do? You can't just leave a pistol in the dugout. It's a baseball field, with kids running around. I could see leaving it in your car, but this is the city and a lot of people might not have driven. Plus your car could have been 3 blocks away. The security detail were armed because they're the security detail, they weren't playing.

If someone with a carry permit could educate me on how you can carry AND play baseball while having your weapon secure at all times, please do.
Safety 1st. No matter what. And how dare someone bring a firearm in a gun free zone like DC. There outta be a law. :colbert;

😀

Most of the time I'm dressed for work, dockers, so I carry. Otherwise, nylon shorts and a tee. I, sadly, have not found a way that I want to carry like that. Belly band, fanny pack, shoulder type, whatever. None fit for reasons. Bought a tactical 511 but it's not for summer wear.

Friend wears jean shorts and carries a .38 easily.

Friend is on the sheriff's dept. He bikes. Fanny pack.

Another guy wears a belly band with a shoulder strap while he runs and it suits him/his body style.

Another friend that is a gym rat carries in his gym bag. He totes it around when he works out but I'm not comfortable with that.

The wife worked for a congressman for some years and he always had staff around. There is a way if they want.

The other problem with allowing congress to carry is that that makes the rest of DC 2nd class peeps. Different topic/thread.

Yup. Remember how Trump had to be prodded to make eventual, limp condemnations?

Sanders immediately denounced this crime with a sane, logical statement that didn't ramble, bring up the election/Hillary/Obama, or try to take credit for anything. His stance against violence has been consistent for well, forever? Cantaloupe Caillou on the other hand relishes in the talk of violence and exhorts his supporters to commit it on his behalf.

There may be some similarities between the frothy radicals of each side, but only one of the leaders involved here is a cowardly little bitch with tiny hands who began a new cycle of violence and hate in our electoral process to enrich himself. Sorry Dumpsters, the truth hurts. It's even. Sad.

They don't teach impeachment in 5th grade. You would know this, if you hadn't dropped out in the 2nd.

In my 5th grade class impeachment was not only taught but used in reality. I was impeached after only 3 days in office after being voted class President. My nefarious back channel to our sister elementary in the then USSR was discovered. 😡

Sanders also immediately fund raised on the idea that Palin had something to do with Gabby Giffords getting shot.

What Rep Oliver said was reprehensible. There is no excuse for it.

That being said, he said "left". Not elected left. Why would you narrow it down? Could it be because a HuffPo's writer called for the "execution" of Trump just days before this happened but you don't want to mention it? They have since taken it down after this shooting. Could it be the play that depicted Trump getting stabbed? Could it be the severed Trump head? That's just the two weeks. Not to mention the left keeps shutting down free speech by violence and intimidation.

But since you want an elected member or federal or state governments, I'll point you towards Representative Nevarez. Who threatened violence against someone on the Texas House floor. Why? Because he called ICE on people holding up signs saying they were illegal and not going anywhere.

"Nevarez threatened my life on the House floor after I called ICE on several illegal immigrants who held signs in the gallery which said 'I am illegal and here to stay,'" Rinaldi wrote. He said Democrats were encouraging protesters to ignore police instructions and, "When I told the Democrats I called ICE, Representative Ramon Romero physically assaulted me, and other Democrats were held back by colleagues."

Rinaldi said Nevarez later "told me that he would 'get me on the way to my car.'" Rinaldi said he responded by making it clear "I would shoot him in self-defense," adding that he is currently under Texas Department of Public Safety protection.

I know, I know. Doesn't fit your agenda.

2% of politically motivated deaths associated with the left
74% with the right

Whatever you say...

Again, he said the left was more violent. Not that the left commits more political deaths. But since you brought it up, hows about a link?

Do you two not see how you took a comment and twisted it to fit your agenda? He did not say elected official or deaths, but that's what you two narrowed it down to.

That is literally what Trump did. I'm sorry that you're uncomfortable with the notion.

Speaking of leaders calling for violence. Hows about Hillary not condemning the "protests" (aka violent attacks) but instead calling for people to "keep fighting" when talking about them. Pretty open calling for violence. When talking about the "protests", not condemning the violent aspects of it, and calling for more fighting. But that doesn't fit your, or others, narrative.

we can’t just do rallies, we have to fight back. there will be casualties on both sides… because people have to die to make a change in this world.

This was said at one of the "protests" the day after election. In a mob setting, getting people riled up, inciting actual killing of people. Even made some of the big news sites, yet Hillary did not denounce it, or others like it.

How about Madonna calling for a "blowing up of the White House" at a woman's rally? Which was met with cheers and clapping. Surely that won't incite violence.

Media's part in this? How about CNN's Acosta lying in a tweet, then getting corrected. Only to double down, passing the blame. He did not apologize. He claimed that a "WH official" said that Trump did not go into Scalise's room after reports came out that he did. People got shot, one almost died, and he has to lie because he doesn't like Trump, about a tragedy as this. Really?

There are many, many more examples. Just as there are from the other side. We can go tit for tat all day long. That doesn't fix a thing, what it does do is create more of a divide and more hate. It is incredibly sad that there are people here who have justified the violence because they don't agree with their point of view. Making jokes and light of deaths or violence against someone. As if any acts of violence against anyone, no matter what their political views are, should be seen as justified.

Its very ignorant, or just plain lying to claim that the right is the only side to incite or act upon violence. There are shitty people who lean left and right. People incite and do violence who lean left and right. Social media is rife with it, which is a huge part of why it is spreading so much now. This shooter was part in it as evidence has proven, as with most cases.
