Shopss.com, Inc
Sales for the three months ended March 31, 2000 were approximately 1,689,024 or
an increase of 379.51% from the 445,058 in sales for the period ended March 31,
1999. The increase in sales is due to several factors including a significant
rise in membership.
Cost of sales as a percentage of sales increased 403.7% for 84% to 89% for the
period ended March 31, 2000. This is primarily a result of the increase in
memberships that included a free pc. Gross profit as a percentage of revenue has
decrease from 16% to 11% for the same reason as stated above.
Selling, general and administrative (SG&A) expenses increased by 1,663.37% from
30,651 during the period ending March 31, 1999 to $509,840 during the same
period in 2000.
The loss from operations for the quarter ending March 31, 2000 was $327,030
which represents a difference of $368,338 from the income from operations of
$41,308 for the quarter ending March 31, 1999 for the reasons as stated above.
Net income was ($327,030) for the period ended March 31, 2000 compared to
$41,308 for the three months ended March 31, 1999.

Yea, Call away and see what you get. I call about every other day and get no one at any extension. Sorry about the rejections. Probably the CC company figured out there was no one to pass the charge back to and therefore rejected your claim so they did not take the hit. If you called and got a provisional credit before the 60 days, however, I would not give up. Write a nice letter explainng you did exactly what you were told to do by the CSR (the fact of your call before the 60 days should be reflected by the provisional credit on your account -- If so point that out to them). Good Luck. Shopss.Con The only thing I wish is I had bought there stock in the midst of this fiasco when it was 30 cents a share. Trdaded yesterday at almost $2 a share. :(

#1 I bought 500 shares at $0.22 a share, I sure hope it goes past $2 so I can sell this puppy and more than pay for the $371 AND the 4 overdraft charges I got when they "mistakenly" charged me a second time for the membership. I guess I shouldn't have used my check-card for the transaction, a lesson learned.

#2 I called Sy today, he was "In a meeting". Surprising how he's been "in a meeting" when an unsatisfied SHOPSS.CON customer calls. I wonder if he'll be "in a meeting" all next week to? I intend to find out. Everyone here needs to call every day. I'm going to look and see if they have an 800 number to use.

Just so we know: Who would say their credit card company was helpful and who would say they're credit card company was unhelpful?

It might be good to switch to the helpful credit card companies?

So if you disputed the charges with your CC company (or webcert) could you reply with like:
First USA, Got my money back after 5 hours on hold.. etc

RossB,

I'm afraid that misguided people would use the info as "righteous" or "fairness" agruments with the CCs and jeopardise folks who have been successful.

So, my answer is .... I filled out the forms XXXXX sent me, attached the materials requested and what jjordan recommended and XXXXX refunded my money in about two weeks.

I think XXXXX is GREAT!!

Sure. There're thousands of stocks that I should've bought (or sold) yesterday. It went from $100 to $900 just like the way you predicted. Sure.

Shopss.com is moving along with its Reverse Merger. Here is a link describing what a RM is and it explains why Shopss is still alive and why its stock is up.

Very interesting read.

I don't know if AccessTel will inherit the liability for all the people Shopss screwed, but I expect it will be next to impossible to get any monies out of them now.

More info from another news post:

New York, New York, Jul. 25, 2000 (Market News Publishing via COMTEX) --
Shopss.com Inc. announced that in anticipation of the closing of its merger with AccessTel, it has began the process of applying for a new Cusip number and a symbol better reflecting its new business activities and direction.

In addition, the corporation intends to replace the current name of Shopss.com by AccessTel Inc., which clearly refers to its core business in Wireless and VoIP technology.

Well, Shopss.CoN's phone is disconnected now. They must be about GONE. Hopefully the fact that they cannot be reached will mean my (and others') CC disputes will get finalized in our favor. If it does, I will have a P3 700 machine for less than the free p3500 was supposed to cost. Heck, this might even qualify as a HOT DEAL but for the 1000 hours of time I have spent on it.

Any idea on the time frame for CC disputes. I received my provisional credit months ago, but haven't heard a word since. I must admit that I haven't even tried contacting my CC compnay - just thought I would ask here.

well my cc came thru for me:) it took 3 weeks, but in the end all they needed from me was a statement that i belive shopss.com is out of bis. and they also needed the last ship date they gave me, so the cc could extend the 30 day dispute limit. then it only took 2 days for a full credit ( not a temporary credit but the real one). now i just have to find a new good deal on a computer.

I am still waiting for the final release of my money. They did a provisional credit a month ago. I called them last week and they had lost my paper work. If you havn't heard from you CC in 2 weeks call them.
As soon as I hear that this fiasco is done I want to buy the processor for box. I want to go with the rated speed and bus frequency. Those of you that got a luckystar mother board version 3 what was the fastest PIII at 100MHz you got to run? I don't know if the 100MHz PIII 733 will even work. What about the 100Mhz PIII 600EB? Did any of you have flash you bios to get your processor to work?

Thank you,
Ponch

Hi, Ponch--

You apparently have a misunderstanding about the processors you had questions about. BOTH the 733 AND the 600EB use the 133MHz FSB speed; that means their multipliers are locked at 5.5 for the 733 & 4.5 for the 600EB. What that means is if you purchase either of them, and run them at the 100MHz FSB speed, you will have a 550MHz or a 450MHz processor, respectively.

If you wish to run a processor designed for the 100MHz FSB speed, you will need to purchase a 600E (not EB to obtain 600MHz, or a 700MHz to get 700MHz, or a 750MHz, etc.)

IF you wish to overclock a processor, obtaining the ones designed for the 100MHz FSB is the best choice, because you're starting at 100MHz, and increasing it to whatever you decide. If the reason you wish to run the chip at the specified FSB speed is due to the RAM you have, then be advised that SOME PC100 RAM will run as high as 133MHz FSB, and possibly higher. Thus, if you purchase the 700MHz cB0 stepping coppermine processor, chances are GOOD you can overclock it to 933MHz, simply by adjusting the FSB setting to 133MHz in the BIOS.

If you purchase the 733MHz or 600EB processors, you will START at the 133MHz FSB speed, which means that if your RAM is PC100, it MAY NOT be able to run those processors at the default bus speed, and would have to be run at a lower speed to accomodate them, thus your 733MHz or 600EB would be somewhat slower than what you had anticipated they would be--less than their rated speeds.

Do yourself a favor and purchase the 700MHz cB0 stepping processor (or the 750MHz cB0 one instead)--you'll be glad you did!

PerryTexan thank you for your input. I did a little searching and see what you mean about having to purchase system designed on a 100MHz FSB (ie.. 700 and 800). I have another concern The proccesors above 600MHz have some extra instruction sets that were not available on the PIII 550. Will those processors with the extra instruction sets run smoothly on the lucky star MB?

Thanks,
Ponch

Hi, Ponch--

I think that all you'll need is a BIOS upgrade for this Mobo, if I have read the other posts correctly. I myself obtained a machine that had the AOpen Mobo, so it was relatively easy to install the coppermine processor.

If you are unable to find the updated BIOS, you might consider replacing the Mobo with something else, such as a Soyo SY-6BA+III, SY-6BA+IV, SY-6BA+100, ABIT BF6, BE6-II, MSI BXMaster, or something equivalent. The Soyo boards are relatively inexpensive (something like around $100 or so), and the ABIT & MSI boards are just a little higher (maybe another $10-$15).

Considering the credit you should be receiving from your credit card company, you should be able to afford BOTH the processor AND another Mobo, if it comes to that (Processor-$192 after rebates, and Mobo ~$100=$292 + shipping of around $10 total).

I personally am running both a SY-BA+III & a SY-6BA+IV with coppermines in them, besides the AOpen Mobo, and have had no problems whatsoever with them, and I am running ALL of them at 133MHz FSB or higher (with budget PC133 SDRAM)
