Looking at the stock ticker, you wouldn't know that this company is dead. SHPS.OB is up 100% in the past month with an average volume of 63,590 shares/day. Makes you wonder just who's playing this stock?
 
The stock is being played by people speculating on the international phone deal, not the shops.coN web site/shopping mall. Although not particularly informative, I have been reading a BBS site where investors have talked about this company (even posted a couple of questions asking what is left of Shopss.CoN with no real answers). Just interesting reading to keep track of Shopss.CoN

wonder what happens if somehow the phone thing works out... think we could bug them to get CPUs? I wonder if they even have the resources to find out if the disputes went thru.
 
I once went on the net...and all I got was this free computer without a processor.....

(you mean there might be a chance to get that too?)
 
I know this thread is dealing with CC disputes, but I have an issue with my Shopss.com PC. I have the ShopSS computer with the Aopen AX6BC-EZ motherboard, and I bought the CII 566 and the MSI 6905-slocket from Onvia. When I put these components in, the computer doesn't boot up. I've checked my connections and realized that the floppy drive was incorrectly hooked up, fixed that. The fans and drives power up, but nothing shows on the screen. Any ideas as to what could be possibly wrong? Thanks

I had a problem with a PIII-700 with the Aopen motherboard and the MSI 6905 slocket in my g/f's shopss computer. I think that the motherboard is the cause, maybe some of them just don't like to accept the coppermine core. I ended up just buying another motherboard... Funny thing about it, everything powered up, but the power LED on the case wouldn't turn on if the motherboard didn't accept the CPU, but if i stuck in a valid CPU (PII-400), it works fine and the LED lights up... strange huh? I actually think that we would've all been better off getting the luckystar motherboard, as I have that in my computer and it works fine with the PIII.
 
Pardon me for stating what may be obvious, but it sounds as thought the memory might not be in tightly. Try taking it out and then making sure it snaps in firmly.
 
Again, stressing the easy, obvious stuff... have you tried reseating the CPU? You wouldn't be the first to have cpu/heatsink/fan assembly fall out of place.
 
When I first plugged in my celeron 300a, it did not work -- make sure it is WELL SEATED ! I unplugged and plugged it in and then it worked.
 
I got the Lucky Star motherboard and had a similar problem. Clearing the CMOS did the trick for me. It seems that some BIOS save info(CPU type, speed, etc.) about the processor. Of course this means that if you install a different processor the settings will be wrong.

After making sure that everything is reseated give this a try.

The credit card company I am trying to work with is capital one. I spoke to some one today about the issues. I made a slight mistake and talked about the computer in the first letter so I am focusing attention on the loss of service since the computer was free. I told the lady at capital one if they are going to require me to return the computer I want to see in writing where it states that I have to since it was a free gift. I also mentioned that I can not get in touch with any one at shopss to make a return even if I wanted to.

BTW: The stock is going up because of the reverse merger. being a name that is listed for trade even if it is OTC is valuable.
 
I suppose I was one of the lucky ones. I ordered my machine at the end of January and received it in February. Haven't had any problems with it except that the processor unseated after a 3000 mile flight. But I simply forgot to lock it into the mb.

Anyhow, a friend of mine pointed me back to the forums here when he noticed the problems with ShopSS. I stopped receiving email updates from them in April. As of tonite, I cannot access their site, nor the site of CCM Computer, the computer manufacturer.

When I ordered this machine, it was a good deal, and I pretty much wrote off ever having a company to back up the 1-year warranty on it.

Now I'm just worried that next January, my credit card will be charged again, because I'm not getting the emails on how to cancel my account, nor could I even access it if I wanted to.

I'll probably just let it ride, what do you all think?
 
Unknown, i also have the aopen motherboard and a cel 2 566,but i have an abit slocket. Everything worked fine.

My circumstances are about the same as yours. And I try not to think about the possibility that this zombie (not dead/still acts but not alive/no service and no one to complain to) monster starts to bill my CC hundreds of bucks.

Subsequently, I have filed a (some call it "lame&quot😉claim against them for the full $371 with my CC. It just seems prudent to lodge my complaints while I still have the facts and they haven't hurt me as badly as they might. Should something else happen, I have this materail on file with the CC.

I suggest you read through this thread and the earlier ones and defend yourself by filing a claim along the lines jjorden outlines.

The answer to your question is, "YES!!! Someone who bought a memebership in January and received a COMPLETE computer has successfully disputed the $371 charge for a Golden Membership and received a refund from his very major CC!!""

it's so funny! I used to work in CAOHEJING High Tech Park in Shanghai, China. Seems like after they find themselves hard to cheat in Isaily and US, they decide to cheat in China. Those officials are easy to cheat, btw. Just give them some money under the table.
 
My ^#@%$! CC company (FIRST USA) has reamed me, saying I got my dispute in too late. My paperwork arrived there more than 60 days after the statement. Even though I called well before then, got the amount put into "disputed" mode, and so forth. @#*@&#.
I, of course, never got the PC. So, for every person that successfully disputed it, and got a PC besides, there's someone like me, out $371 with nothing to show for it. @#@*#&!
Not what we needed with a baby eating up all our money. 🙁
