The horrors in Oakland are the result of progressive policies put in place and nurtured by the likes of you. YOU are to blame. It's all on your shoulders but in true progressive fashion, you blame it on others.

I was belittling and berating your mindset. It's a poison on the land and one we've endured for too long. You feign interest in helping the downtrodden because it suits your political purposes. You are responsible for the unfair things in society because without them, you'd amount to even less than you do today. Those of your mindset had control of this nation for many decades and do today. In that period of time what have you achieved? You've created more misery and more poverty. Why? Because it sustains you. You've solved nothing and you never will. Then you have the nerve to proselytize to us.

What kind of monster are you?

The idiocy is fine; that I can address as an act of charity.

But the rudeness = ignore list.

They just need to bring back the draft, and problem solved. You don't have nearly as many potential criminals causing trouble and hanging around with nothing to do when there is a draft going on. And many of them would be drafted and accepted whether they liked it or not. And the draft is going to come back again, you can bet on it. The military can certainly give people who need a job and a career a good place to start.

So your solution to too much violence here, is to create far more violence against innocent people somewhere else? As I said before: and THEY'RE the bad guys?

You probably can, but angry conservatives are not an overwhelming majority here, so don't expect too much validation.

I'll just say that if social conservatives weren't so busy being butthurt about (damn near literally) every single bill and idea proposed by anyone else (including moderate conservatives), things might change around the nation. New legislation might get made, and old stuff amended. Instead we have perpetual legislative gridlock while you stonewall, filibuster, and generally bitch out almost every single item that isn't a plank of your party.

While they gift themselves trillions of dollars in free govt giveaways that somehow benefits the party and constituents and not the taxpayers.

You forgot to add that little part in.

Yes. It's a plan. Maybe not the best plan, but handing out checks for doing nothing hasn't worked so well so far, now has it?

While that's a gross misrepresentation of the policies, yes, actually it has worked far better than you understand. The problem is doing too little, not too much.

I have a good idea. Let's do as you suggest, and cut food for kids and adults, cut education, cut public infrastructure, cut housing, cut public tranportation. Success!

Meh, that isn't unique to conservatives. But, viewing any compromise as a pure defeat...

So rather than having too few, you want even more handouts? Why not just have one day a month where the criminals and lazy fatties who don't want to work can go to Walmart and take anything they want to? I mean hey, we can just charge that to Uncle Sam too, right?

And I didn't suggest stopping handouts, but you choose to infer that erroneously because it fit what you wanted to preach to the choir about.

So, if I have a gun and get fired on and attempt retreat but continue to be fired on, I can't return fire without people expecting me to be arrested?
Years ago, before I moved from Michigan, there was a gas station/convenience store armed robbery in the city nearby (Flint). The clerk grabbed a gun, one of those maligned Tek-9 type guns with high-cap mag. The robber fled out of the store, the clerk chased him and opened fire on the robber in the parking lot from about 30 ~ 40 feet away. He fired something like 17 rounds, several of which zipped across a normally busy street and struck houses on the other side. He managed to hit the robber two or three times (survived) out of all those rounds. The robber never fired a shot.

Turns out the clerk was a convicted felon, not supposed to even touch a gun. But the gun wasn't his, it belonged to the owner of the store. Our antigun county prosecutor, who has given speeches at antigun rallies across the country, declined to press charges because he was acting in self-defense and even implied the clerk was something of a hero.

Let's see, they looked at you, you want to kill all of them, and they're the bad guys.

Actually, many of them ARE the bad guys - but so are you with your racism and offering nothing more useful than 'kill them all'.

We live in a society with a lot of unfair things, and it's some hard work to fix some of the problem, that's worth doing.

But that sort of mindless 'use an ion cannon from space' idiocy reflects a political ignorance and apathy helping prevent improving things.

The answers to the horrors in Oakland is not to say 'blast from them space'. But you don't care what the answers are.

You don't understand that you're ignorant about it.

I'm not being racist I don't think. so much as saying it was a terrible neighborhood. Place looked like a warzone. The guys could leave for a bit before they blow the place up and come back later. The blight is what makes some of those areas so bad.

Kind of like how they are tearing neighborhoods down in Detroit. Gangs and criminals just hang out in blighted areas in general. That said i am an equal opportunity hater of criminals. I had a coworker get robbed at gun point in Oakland. By white people. Shitty areas like that just add to the problem because gangs concentrate in them

You would have much less faith in the "system" if you've seen its inner workings...

Welfare these days certainly helps people who genuinely need it, but it also is HEAVILY abused.

My comment isn't based on 'they're black so you're racist'. It's based on things like your singling out their black hairstyle as an object of hate and a 'couldn't care less' attitude.

I'd agree with you about a lot of the problems, the question is how to improve things.

Hate to tell you but it's too easy to make people disposable and poverty deeply entrenched - do badly for a kid and it's basically guarantted he'll be a problem.

The 'inner workings' can be ugly. What's easy to forget is the ugliness of too little help despite the problems with never perfect programs.

Some people look at one person abusing a system - abuse not caught because they slashed funding for enforcement - and they say 'scrap the program for everyone'.

There's a point where slippery slope fallacy making is so extreme there's really no point in a reply. Your last comment - show me where you limited your attack.

o_O Why aren't all cities in CA like Oakland then?

You're the one proselytizing here.

LOL Both are wearing hoodies.
Now THATS rich

When I went to San Fran a few years back I wandered over the bridge into Oakland.
Went to two or three places, local eatery, bar etc... where they looked at me and said; " You are going to be outta here by 4 PM , RIGHT?"....... I guess now its like noon? Maybe 10 AM?

it's all over drug sales. They are killing each other to assure all you's dopers that your drugs are on sale and available.

It is all related to drugs. Prohibition causes the rise of gangs and organized crime to control what normally regulated corporations would control.

At least start by legalizing weed and letting people grow their own and buy from legitimate businesses and watch the violence decrease.
