Oh, and what would it save you? 2 minutes of your time? 3 minutes?

Do you dislike waiting in long lines at the bank? Is the fact that pages load faster part of the appeal of broadband if you have it? Are you annoyed by the slowness of dial-up if you don't? Do you try to avoid rush hour traffic?

If you answered no to all of those you're the epitome of patience. If you answered yes you're just a hypocrite and you should be quiet. Nobody likes being stuck in traffic behind a slow driver and I doubt you're an exception. It may not be the most major annoyance in the world but nevertheless, it is annoying.

i answered yes to all those, but is this something he really needs to post about? sure, he wasted three minutes of time, but he probably wasted more making this thread and replying in it

"Wow, so you mean that those of us who don't live in the inner city will have to walk 20 miles to work every day because we don't meet some stupid high standard? "

Yes, you're catching on.

"yea, you cannot be cited for going to slowly, you can be told by an officer to go faster, unless there is a minimum speed"

Yes you can be given a ticket for going to slow as you are creating a hazard.

"Actually cost you a whole 2 minutes and 3 seconds, assuming you were planning to go the speed limit. "

Now multiply this by 10-20 times every day and then multiply by 365 days every year.

Now how much time have we lost for no good reason?

"You being a newbie driver who can't speed doesn't warrant cussing as someone."

Since when is going the speed limit "speeding?" He wanted to go 55.

OP is a tool.

All I have to say is "deal with it."

You being a newbie driver who can't speed doesn't warrant cussing as someone. Cry me a river, we've all been there, DEAL WITH IT and realize it's going to happen. Make the best of it and enjoy the scenery.

It would be a different story if you had a pregnant lady in the car, or really had to crap.

I agree with the rant. I hate people who do that... not necessarily for the fact that they drive slow, as there MAY be a valid reason for that. I hate them for the fact that they are inconsiderate and will not pull over for faster traffic to pass. The issue isn't necessarily about saving time per se, but about frustration level.

I happen to be one of those (insert expletive) drivers who drives the speed limit or just under. Teenage years had some fun moments to them, but they're long past and I've since come to realize cars are transportation devices, not toys, that I'm not invincible and neither are those around me on the highway and it really is true it cuts MPG to drive faster. Turns out that wasn't just adults trying to spoil my fun.

Viper0329's suggestion that they had car trouble seems very likely at 40 mph. For those who would say that they should then pull over and let you pass, consider the situation. You have a car that only does 40, you pull over, now you have to go again - if the car will accelerate - and merge back into the lane of traffic. Which if it was busy is more of a hazzard than just maintaining that 40 to start with.

Stay the eff off the road please. Thank you oldie oldson.

The guy going 40 in a 55 was a road hazard. He caused other cars behind him to brake unnecessarily, and form a line behind him. He also aggravated people who were nice and calm doing the speed limit. The guy going 40 should have ran his car into a ditch and killed himself as a service to humankind.

40 in a 55 is NOT a hazard.

5 in a 45 is a hazard. you OBVIOUSLY have never driven through amish country (yes, my county has the largest population of amish in ohio, but like 20 minutes from here) you OBVIOUSLY dont live near farms with tractors that go up and down the roads,

WHEN do you get stuck behind 10-20 drivers A DAY going 15 under?? seriously, thats not reasonable.

hey, can we see the pics of your car fazzter?

and if you think im sum grumpy old dude.

clue#1 look at my sig
clue #2 im 17
clue #3 no i dont like getting behind slow ppl, but if it happens, it happens DEAL WITH IT

and since when, did he cause a line of cars????? i only have heard about one car behind the slow dude. you guys make the LARGEST assumptions EVER!

40 in a 55 is not a hazard. It's annoying to people who wish to go faster. If people behind need to hit the brakes with a 15mph closing rate where the other vehicle is in clear view then the person behind is the hazardous driver.

Sure is a lot of hatred here. Calling for death and swearing at anyone who doesn't think like you. Heck of a way to live, I don't envy you.

1) This just shows you're an ignorant moron with no sense of life outside your little niche of the world.
2) 15 under is not a hazard by any stretch of the imagination
3) Where in the FSCK do you get stuck behind slow drivers 10-20 times a day?
4) Granted.

It might not seem long to you but It was long to me. There was no reason to go 40 MPH. There was no one infront of him either. It makes me so mad when people go below the speed limit. What A holes.

Do you really want to shot somebody in the head because they are driving too slowly for you?

I can't believe people are sticking up for people driving 15 mph below the speed limit.

Just goes to show you that the damn idiots on this board will stop at nothing to try to troll angry replies...

Or maybe you're just short-sighted and lack seratonin? ;)

We're sticking up for the slow driver because VTBoy ticked us off with his useless, droll, senseless rant. :D

I think the ironic thing is, people who go 15 mph under the speed limit are probably smugly thinking they are the safest drivers on the road when in fact the road rage and frustration they elicit makes them more dangerous than people going 15 mph OVER the speed limit.

I was just saying that. Ofcourse I wont kill anyone for going 15 MPH under the speed limit. But I wouldn't mind if they kill them self.

OK all you slow driver defenders.

i was driving down a 3 lane highway (3 lanes going each direction) defend the moron that was doing 15 mph BELOW the speed limit in the LEFT most lane.

Those drive me crazy, WTF are they thinking. there are 3 lanes and they go to the left most one and decide to do 15 mph BELOW the posted speed limit.

If traffic isn't heavy, I'll drive in the left-most lane of I-78 because trucks aren't allowed in it. I don't go below the speed limit though. Maybe the people you are referring to don't want to slow people down when they're trying to exit? I dunno. :)

Uh... yeah. It's their fault that people have uncontrollable rage.

by the same right.. people who drive above the speedlimit should be "shot dead" quoting your original post

i drive above the limit myself, but i dont see why this is a big deal, you wanted to drive 55 or above, they were looking for their turnoff or not in a hurry, either way you dont know their situtation.... maybe their best friend just died in a horrible car accident and are still slightly afraid to drive as fast as they normally would

the speed limit is just that, a LIMIT, not a suggestion, it isnt necessarily a speed you should be driving.. it's the upper most limit

once again i say that i drive above the limit myself

tailgating people going slow is pointless. It just makes it impossible to have a speed difference between you and the vehicle infront of you. So when you go to pass you have to move over into the other lane and then start accelerating. That will require more space then hanging back and wait for a chance to pass start accelerating so that when you start passing you will be going 10 - 15 mph faster then the slow ass.
