Cool, the moderator is finally joining in on our conversations. It's about time he stopped being so shy :)

How do you know "he" is not a "she" ? ;)

This happened a few years ago too...a boat loaded up with new VWs / Audis sank...

SHIP! SHIP! SHIP! GD it! It's SHIP not a damn boat!!!! GRRRRR!

How about if I called a computer the CPU or the HARD DRIVE? (talking about the entire case) Yeah it's that bad!!!

Hey now, the entire IT staff at a school district I am familiar with calls the whole tower a CPU.

LOL. My entire IT department at a a large Municipal Division calls the tower the CPU and inventories thousands of units as CPUs. I feel your pain, once got on someone's case for calling it the CPU...

I got one person to finally call it the "computer tower". She asked for the CPU, and I openned up the case, unplugged the cpu fan, unbolted the heatsink, took out the cpu and handed it to her - all with a straight face.

No you didn't.

Actually even us die hard Squids (US Navy) call our ships "boats"
we never say we are going to the ship.. the proper term at least for us.. in navy slang is we are going to "the boat"... and its GONNA SUCK!

I have never heard anyone use the proper term while in the Navy for 10 years..
and yes I know its proper to call it a ship.. and dont really care...

to this day I still work with nautical types on our oil drilling ships and they call it "The boat" as well..
