SHIP! SHIP! SHIP! GD it! It's SHIP not a damn boat!!!! GRRRRR!
How about if I called a computer the CPU or the HARD DRIVE? (talking about the entire case) Yeah it's that bad!!!
Hey now, the entire IT staff at a school district I am familiar with calls the whole tower a CPU.
LOL. My entire IT department at a a large Municipal Division calls the tower the CPU and inventories thousands of units as CPUs. I feel your pain, once got on someone's case for calling it the CPU...
I got one person to finally call it the "computer tower". She asked for the CPU, and I openned up the case, unplugged the cpu fan, unbolted the heatsink, took out the cpu and handed it to her - all with a straight face.
CPU is not an uncommon term to use when talking about the computer itself. I guess it was used more back in the day. But I've heard many people call the computer a CPU (Central Processing Unit), even many IT people.
Now, when people call it the "hard drive" or the "modem", that's a little ignorant. But for her to call it a CPU and you hand her the processor only proved one thing, you're a fvcking douche, and I'm sure she thinks it too. And IT people wonder why everyone else calls them nerds and shuns them......
