You neglect to mention the IQ problems ATI has with COD2, WoW, CS:S, HL2, 3DMark06, etc.

Add to it all the heat, noise, driver problems, power issues, etc. and it's an all-in-wonder anyone would buy an ATI card.

The troll must be strong in you to ignore such things.

the sad thing is it's those using the nv cards who should be griping... yet it's usually the ati users using the "shimmering" as some sort of war cry... it certainly is getting old.

perhaps we should start a new thread on this subject every time a different review happens to mention this?

That's the first I've heard about such IQ problems. Mind explaining them in detail?

Heat? Most of ATi's cards exhaust it out of the case, where as NV's do not. Driver problems? You do realize NV has driver problems too, right? Power issues? What power issues? Noise? Forget that the 7900GT is as loud as the XT? What IQ problems? You do realize NV has IQ problems in some games too, right?

Funny how you can call anyone a troll, with a troll sig. You're obviously bias, and hypocritical too.

Sorry, but that its not always true. There are MANY NV users who "grip" (as you put it) about shimmering. Myself being one, or two actually. Since I have SLI'd GTX's. Although they are being shipped out on Wednesday, and just bought a X1900XT.

you've been here a long time . . . and you've just noticed the trend? :p

same as in the "sue ati" thread . . . the ones complaing the most don't even have an ati card . . .

However, it is an OPEN discussion . . .and it gives ATi fanboys a[nother] reason to reassure themselves they they made the "awesome choice'. ;)

notice "i" don't care either way :p

since i would NEVER buy a LCD.

was a generalization... and sadly it's true much more often than not, and it's is all so... "yesterday"...

funny also those who just have a need to point out obvious typos.. even more humerous when they are the one that is incorrect, lol (kind of makes them look like a "you know what", doesn't it?)

perhaps you should not be so quick to try and prove some sort of superiority by correcting someone unless you know your grammar/spelling? ;)

Sheeet, all these GPU wars.

For god sake people who gives a shite!

I just bought two 7900 Gt's for £207 each!! EACH!! So while you guys yap on and argue about which side is better, I'm enjoying these amazing prices from all this competition.
And so should you. Why is such a sweet situation being made so bitter?

Enjoy your cards. Truth is, very few of the newer cards these days are bad at all.
Whatever you buy is a pretty good deal. We're just picking on minor details now.
It's like choosing between a Mercedes S-Class and a BMW 7 Series, you can quable all day long about which you prefer or which is better, truth is they are both exquisite and both are damn fine cars. The way I see it is you cant go wrong with either.

Pretty sad that some people get disgraced so badly and then come back under an alias and different IP. It's worse than Turtle/Intelia at least he wasn't humiliated in a nealry 100 page thread and then sent packing by the mods. I hope when I reach my 40s I'm not some pathetic overweight guy making $30k a year and depending on corporate handouts via forum trolling just to afford SLI like my old friend Rollo.

What's next? Your dad can beat up my dad?

When did I try to correct your spelling or grammar? I didnt. I make typos all the time. Even if I see it after I post, I dont go back and correct it. I dont care enough to. I dont understand why you even posted that to me, when I didnt try to correct anyone. I could easily turn your arguement around on you, but what would be the point in that.

I simply quoted you, and made a typo. You used the word gripe, as if it was a bad thing to do. Which is what I was getting at. After you spend $1k+ on video cards. If you are not happy, you have a right to gripe.

putting it in quotes to emphisize it made it look like you were playing the "grammar nazi" card; if it wasn't meant that way, i apologize for taking offense.

What really pisses me off is that the X800 and 6800 had these issues and no one commented on them except for me. ****** review sites! The thread that I created is gone already, but I have it saved just in case.

The choice still remains Nvidia if you want the least amount of texture shimmering.

Shimmering sucks :(

Fix it nvidia, fix it. It isn't acceptable on $500 video cards.

Nat

*And ATI. Really. Or I will buy a... ummm... XGI card next time! That's right, you heard me! :p
