Face it fellas. Power is back and the days of econo FWD cars is over. At least in the "sports sedan" category that I honestly believe the Maxima started back in the late 80s.
Was it ever gone?

It sure was. Between the early 90s till now, cars were mundane. You had a few show stoppers such as the SHO and Countour SVT and Impala SS, but they got killed off.

Regarding the Maxima starting it...its sad to see that the nameplate lost its way in 2004. The G35 is the "Maxima" now.

Since when are Mustangs, Corvettes and Thunderbirds considered sports sedans?? And the Thunderbird stopped being a sports anything since the mid-60s!

It's WAY too easy to go fast in this thing.
tsk tsk... looks like someone isn't following the manufacturer's recommended break-in procedure :D

edit: VERY nice car... I looked at one when I sold my Acura and bought my WRX about a year ago, but I was done with the torque steer and understeer that it characteristic of FWD's. Sorry to dog the FWD thing again (I noticed others already have), but I really felt/feel that way. Now that I got my WRX lowered and a custom neg-camber alignment done, the handling is soooo neutral... I love it.

Bah...that new t-bird convertible looked like a Taurus on the inside. And they've already stopped production of it.

Besides...it still wasn't a sports sedan. It's a coupe.

yeah.. too bad she doesn't get on all fours...
Rumor has it that the 2005.5 (available Fall '05) TL will have this option. But its just a rumor right now :(

edit: Even then, it prolly won't be a 'true' AWD; I bet 80% of the torque is going to the front wheels most of the time.

oh, I firmly believe that Honda will utilize the Four Wheel Drive system (which is part time 4wd) found on the MDX and adopt it on the TL....
(they will do that with the Euro-Accord/TSX in Japan.... yes, a 4WD Accord (and it has a turbo) )

nobody else has a problem with it being spoiler-less ? Nice rims, nice profile, all sporty looking but he didn't close the deal.

Exactly! I'm 32. No spoiler....m'kay. Thanks. I have an image to uphold.

And I'm seriously considering throwing some classy 18s on there though.

Yes, the TL has dual exhaust and side turn lights. They aren't very noticible and blend into the line down each side.

Hmm... interesting. I'm 26 and never thought having a spoiler correlated with age. I see a nice G35c out there with a spoiler and it's 5x better looking than a G35c without a spoiler. I don't care how much more I'd have to pay. The whole thing looks hot. Just about the last thing I think to care about when I see something like that is who's driving it and how old they are. And I've seen mid-30s women drive G35c's with spoilers...

A mid 30s woman driving a G35 with a spoiler says only one thing:

I'm divorced and want a man. I'll attract him with my car.
;)

It works too!

There are some spoilers which do enhance a cars lines, but they seem out of place on a luxury sport sedan.
