Also watch the video of the Jose Guerena murder and observe the keystone cops sweep each other, discharge their guns recklessly without even aiming, etc. And that's the SWAT team, supposedly the most well trained cops.

Our High School actually had a full time Narcotics Officer/Depty Sheriff. Our Vice Principal as well as one other faculty member were Reserve Deputies so odds are there were 3 armed cops at any one time.

Training for something out of mandatory need vs. doing it all the time because you enjoy it?

It wasn't a blanket statement for all cops, many of then are also gun enthusiasts in their civilian life. Majority of good cops out there had the know how, self discipline and training, and mindset as a civilian long before they decided they wanted to be cops and do something they already enjoy for a pay check.

My point wasn't to discredit police training so much as dispelling the fantasy that civilians can't do anything and everybody should always defer to "the experts" as the media has so brainwashed our society into believing.
