And of course, torture and graphic violence is perfectly fine on TV. But if you want to do something really bad, like flip off someone, or expose some ass or boobs, oh god watch out, here come the censors!

thats what i seriously do not understand. showing rape, murder, executions, beatings, shooting, stabbing, clubbing and every other fucked up way to hurt somebody is perfectly ok on tv but show a tit OMG all hell breaks loose.

when did the human body become such a dirty thing?

reminds me of that recent penn and teller on the justice system. the only reason he's even getting charged is the prosecutor is a fuckwit.

No. I think girls should be able to show their breasts in public.

Most stories I read show the courts agree with that. I am sure some smaller local courts say otherwise, but when appealed it usually does not hold up unless men are also banned.

There should be no such thing as a sex offender. The only 'sexual' offense should be rape (actual), and that should be punishable by death (or at least life in prison). anything else is consensual or a thought crime.

Ok, maybe there are a few other oddball ones out there...but very few and they're probably only worth a misdemeanor charge and forget it.

Name another sex crime. Beastiality is basically rape (since the animal didn't give consent), but even that's pushing it. Statutory is consensual and shouldn't be a crime. Pornography is nothing more than thought/expression (unless it's pictures of something non-consensual, in which case it's rape). Prostitution is consensual, and should certainly not be a crime. Exposing oneself shouldn't be considered a sex crime in most cases (unless it's chronic), it's at most some sort of disruption of the peace.

Seriously, name me something that should get someone registered with a life impacting title like 'sex offender'. It's nothing more than puritanical dickwads getting their panties in a bunch because they haven't had sex good enough to loosen up.

my problem is you are putting everything under the banner of "rape" where it is not.

there are diffrent crimes. a peron who has a sex with a 12 yr old girl is doing more then rapeing her. she may even agree and want it. Same with a child mollestation etc.

porn? no porn should be against the law (ok well child porn duh). so look at anything you want (long as the models are willing ot do it).

i agree prostitution should be legal.

Should 12yr olds have sex? Probably not. Is it their right if they want to? Now it's more clouded. If one had sex with another one, and then later had sex with a 16yr old, and then later had sex with a 25 yr old, and later a 35yr old, which ones 'should be' crimes, and what are the punishments? Now, if you would argue the situations are different how can you get around equal protection and age discrimination issues? What about the earlier development/puberty, and natural human genetic predisposition arguments?

In those above arguments if either person was forced, or even significantly coerced, then it's rape, not some other made up law. Molestation is just rape, potentially without penetration but the term still applies (as should the laws).

It's not that I'm looking for a loophole to date prepubescents, but I cannot fathom a rational argument for sex crimes other than rape.

You can't argue against sex crimes legislation or else you're a closet pedophile.

Stories like this really burn me up, because this guy is going to be in the exact same class as a rapist. The same goes for a 18yo boy who makes out with his 17yo girlfriend.

This sex crime witch burning and over classification needs to stop.

I think the obvious answer is these things shouldn't be illegal but barring that, there actually needs more classification so simple "crimes" aren't lumped in with actual ones (with life altering penalties).
