Loudspeaker permit.....what crap is that ?????????

New York sucks....

Guess Cindys above the law.

Freedom of Speech doesn't need a permit.

Yes it does, freedom of speech does not mean freedom to be heard.

 with Sheehan.

She's shown herself to be nothing but a political tool for the most radical of the left-wing groups and any credibility she might have had has long since been shot to hell.

I'm still amazed that anyone would actually pay her to come speak about anything...

Huh?
I think he is pointing out that freedom of speech does not mean that that the goverments has to afford you every available method of conveyance for your speech.

If I thought that the best way to express my ideas was to drop 500,000 flyers into the streets of NYC, would the mayor's refusal be an example of the curtailing of my 1st Amendment rights? I think not.

She made her point, now she just needs to shut up.
Yeah...someone beat her up and stick her in the kitchen.

:cookie: Yes, that's exactly what the OP implied. That because she is a woman, she deserves to be beaten and relegated to nothing more than domestic duties. I can clearly see how you made that obvious leap of logic.

Freedom of Speech doesn't need a permit.

It is statements like this that will lose everyone their freedom of speech. Freedom comes at the cost of responsibility. If people trespass the rights of others while exercising their freedom, then one freedom or the other must be restricted. Because people have been too loud in the past, if you want to use freedom of speech above certain decible levels, you need a permit. How would you like it if Bush set up a loud speeker in your neighborhood at 2 am. I don't think you'd be saying "oh well, freedom of speech". While that is a little overboard, I am simply demonstrating that people being too loud (decible wise) with thier freedom of speech is what has made it so you need a permit some places. The more freedoms are abused, the more they will be restricted.

Aren't you a happy little turd in everyone's punchbowl?

Next time you want to pretend to be a "conservative," try defending the REAL U.S. Constitution and standing up for EVERYONE's First Amendment right to freedom of speech. :|

I moved back to NYC after over a decade and this place is a total police state gentrified hole compared to the old NYC I remembered...sad

I asked a NYPD why the fascist mentality nowdays but the officer said its becasue they have so many citations to write and the "criminality"....

Another US city turned into a yuppie whitebread sh1thole with cops tosing anyone off the streets who break the whitebread mentality...

All I have to say is this is not the NYC I remember...so boring and...well a feeling of occupation.

I am very dissapointed wherever I travel nowdays...coffeeshops gone, artists driven out wherever I go.

Who knows what the fate of this country is with all the finer aspects opressed from this last generation.

I excercised mine to tell you you're a hypocrite. But I'm not surprised at your ignorance and complete inability to figure that out.
