A friend of mine has been dating her boyfriend for 2 years. She lets him sleep over at his ex g/f's house.
She says she's ok with that because they "share a huge level of trust"
I think that's a little weird, and he's most likely banging the ex. what do you think?
Your friend is dumber than a box of rocks. Her "boyfriend" is still tapping the ex. Hats off to the dude for owning her though.
that's exactly what I was thinking. Ironically, she has her Master's and is now studying for her PhD. That's what makes it so conusing. how can someone so ambitious and smart be so gullible?

More words of wisdom. It's all about having something different. That old sweatshirt sure is comfy, but it doesn't beat that new shirt.

It all depends on the intelligence of the individual. If they're an impulsive animal, they may act on every primitive impulse they have.
If they're intelligent, however, they'll be more likely to contemplate the implications of their actions and will refrain from acting upon their impulses. Have you ever wondered why some people can't maintain a long term relationship?

It all depends on what circles you hang around in. Into that club scene or hip hop crowd? Yeah, it's a cesspool of promiscuity.
I know that the crowd I hang around, going from partner to partner is looked down upon, and we wouldn't be hanging around a scumbag like that. Sure, they'll still do it, but they won't be part of our group anymore.

So you're concerned about her b/f hanging out with his ex... and you're hanging out with her, and she's your ex.Originally posted by: daveymark

You can still be very good platonic friends with your ex. I have platonic relationships with a few of my ex's.
Do they sleep at your house?
Because I can't think of ANY reason to sleep at a "platonic friends" house.
ANY? Not one?
Maybe they shared dinner and the visitor had a few too many drinks? I crash at friends places every now and then, and they do the same here.
Oh, or maybe the car broke down? Bad weather? It got late and they're too tired to safely drive home? There's a million reasons.
And yes you can be platonic friends with an ex. I am. I visited the ex a few days ago after going out to a game with my family. I was in the neighbourhood and had a small xmas gift for her. I stopped by, had some tea, watched some tv and left after midnight. I was offered a place to sleep for the night, and I could have and my current g/f would probably have been okay with it, but I chose to go home for a number of reasons, the main one being respect. Had I have been drinking or had my car broken down or something, I wouldn't have had a problem sleeping over there.
Yeah that previous statement was retarded for anyone that would be actually having fun in life.
The stopped by for tea thing though with a gift seems a bit much to me though.

Huge level of trust? More like a huge level of naivete. What is the supposed purpose of his spending the night at his ex's house?![]()

That's a bit of a slippery slope. You don't know that for a fact
You're making assumptions based on your own beliefs, without objectively looking at the situation.

Sorry dude. Guess you've never hooked up or strung along an ex. Here's the keys to success:
1) tell her you still love her but you are confused
2) bang her and tell her she is the only one. The girlfiend can't break the bond we have with our love.
3) rinse and repeat
